Both Aqua and Denji have supernatural elements to them, but overall Denji is more likable and pitiful, which helps A man with a chainsaw stronger of the two anime. Denji has so little, yet he could lose everything, making him and the audience wonder why humble people like them can't seem to get ahead. In addition A man with a chainsaw presents Maki as one of the best villains in the business, a person who feels like a nurturing mother when inside she's actually a total monster.
