In a bloody action anime Demon Slayernot everyone gets the happy ending they deserve. In fact, some character endings feel weak or forgettable, happy or not, and rightly so Demon Slayer owed a bit more to these characters. Fans would be pleased if these characters were given more development and screen time than they were written, and maybe these characters should survive after all.
Of course, Demon Slayer he wrote these character endings to maximize emotional impact or make room for more cast members, which are common reasons why stories treat certain characters so harshly. That being said, it would be nice to get more screen time from these characters before their untimely demise or similar endings. Or some actors needed a more substantial or happy ending to satisfy the audience much more.
Sabito had to die because of his master's actions
Sabito was once a promising student
It is not uncommon for characters to appear mostly or entirely in flashback sequences, such as Sabito in Demon Slayer. His spirit manifested at the beginning of the anime to encourage and guide the student Tanjiro Kamado, with Makomo's own ghost. The two knew what it was like to be Sakonji Urokodaki's student, and tragically, it was the reason they died in the end.

Sabito was once Sakonji's promising student until Giyu Tomioka felt inadequate compared to him. Due to the Hand Demon's grudge against Sakonji, the creature targeted Sabito during the Final Selection and made sure to kill him. It was a tragic waste of Sabito's potential and cut his career short, and there was only so much he could do as a ghost. Demon Slayer Fans may wish that Sabito had done more before or after his death, but his fate humbled him and limited him to this limited role with a modest ending.

Gyokko was demoted to Jobber status when he fought Muichiro
Gyokko was a physical threat and nothing more
For the most part, the mighty Upper Moons had decent endings Demon Slayerstory. In some cases the weaknesses of the Upper Moons were used against them, and in the cases of Akaza and Kokushibo, they could no longer live with what they had become. These were made for great character endings, but there is an exception: Upper Moon 5, Gyokko. He took part in only one battle and the conclusion only flattered Muichiro Tokito.
7 Demon Slayer characters that would make a better ultimate villain than Muzan
These demon slayer characters could not only replace Muzan as the ultimate villain, but surpass him.
Of course Muichiro had to defeat Gyokko forever to save the day, but it's still such a shame for Gyokko's character. His brutal end came when he was demoted to a mere worker for Muichiro and his brand of demon slayer, a crushing conclusion for Upper Moon. This also means that fans didn't get to see what kind of person Gyokko was before he became a demon, lacking an endgame flashback to match that of Daki and Akaz. Then again, having Gyokko die as a complete mystery helped reinforce his delightfully alien and incomprehensible nature.
Rei soon disappeared from the story without doing anything
Rei could provide insight into Muzan's deceptions
Rei was such a minor character Demon Slayer's story, it's understandable if most fans have forgotten her name or even forgotten about her altogether. Her role soon became to strengthen the sinister, deceptive side of Muzan Kibutsuji, with Muzan tricking Rei into thinking he was her normal human partner. Rei even had a child, another part of this fake family life that worried Tanjiro greatly.
In the end, Rei became just a small plot in favor of Muzan and not much else. She didn't need an epic ending with great flashbacks, but it would still be nice if she did Demon Slayer spared a minute to show fans a post-Muzan Rei. Fans wanted to see the spell broken on Rei as she realized what happened before finding the resolve to move on with her life.
Mukago died because Muzan lost faith in the lower months
Only Enmu was spared and barely even then
Among the Lower Moons, only Rui and Enmu had any serious time to show off their abilities and develop their personalities. The same favor was not extended to the other four lesser moons, such as the lesser moon 4, Mukago. Like her allies, Mukago was only seen briefly as Muzan summoned his weaker Twelve Moon minions before massacring them. Mukago didn't get a chance to show off her special powers before meeting a gruesome end.

For plot reasons and to emphasize Muzan's cruel nature, it made sense for the Lower Moons to be massacred like this by their own master. Still, it would be fun to see one or more of them somehow escape to figure out what to do as loners. Any of them, such as Mukago, could run off to become a wanderer and either reconsider their lot in life or vow revenge on a lord who decided they weren't worth lingering around. Before she met her end, Mukago could also show the audience who she really was, either before or after her dark transformation.
Shinobu Kocho never lived to avenge her sister's death
Kanao had to do it instead
Shinobu Kocho's horrible ending is another example of a horrible character ending that made narrative sense but was still wrong in-universe. Not all revenge stories end well, and for many reasons, in fact, they often end badly or in strange ways. This was the case of Thorfinn v The Vinland Sagaand Demon SlayerShinobu Kocho didn't even get a chance to reconsider the role of revenge in her life. She vowed to destroy Dom at all costs to avenge Kanae, only to meet a sticky end.
The 6 Most Important Demon Slayer Characters (Right Now)
With the next Infinity Castle movie on the horizon, these are the characters that stand out as the most important characters in the demon slayer.
Shinobu's grim fate helped heighten the emotional and physical stakes for Kana's and Inosuke's ongoing battle with Doma in the next Demon Slayer film. Personally, Shinobu should have had a better ending, maybe a compromise where she survives but can't fight anymore, similar to Tengen Uzui. Emotionally and morally, it seemed like it was “supposed” to happen, denying Shinobu her chance for revenge while allowing her to survive and find out what her life meant outside of avenging Kanae.
Shinjuro had a decent ending, but it could have been better
The Demon Slayer Corps needed their Flame Hashiru back
It made sense for Flame Hashiru, Kyojuro Rengoku, to die by Akaza's hand the way he did. Such an outcome reinforced the strong emotional stakes of the Mugen Train Arc, prompting Tanjiro to grow stronger and seek revenge against Akaz. Then there is the matter of Kyojuro's father, the retired Hashira Shinjuro Rengoku. It was interesting to see someone who looked so much like Kyojuro and acted so differently at the same time, and there were good reasons why Shinjuro felt so cynical about killing demons at that moment.
anyway, Demon Slayer he could have beefed up Shinjuro's ending a bit more to celebrate the Rengoku family. On the plus side, Shinjuro's personal arc had a solid conclusion regarding his grief and his connection to Tanjiro, which was enough for some fans. That said, it would be fantastic to see Shinjura trade in his sake bottle for a Nichirin blade to show everyone what Flame Hashira deserved to be in his prime. He could have wrapped his arc with the “one more battle” trope to fully redeem him as the bitter alcoholic father.
