6 New Gen Manga That Can Replace My Hero Academia

Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia has become an iconic series over the years. My Hero Academia it grew in popularity after the end of Naruto, holding Weekly Shonen Jump as one of its mainstays for a decade. Unfortunately after a successful run My Hero Academia ended in 2024, and since then fans have been looking for something to fill the void. While MHA will never truly replace anything, these new generations can be great reading for fans of Horikoshi's masterpiece.

Akane-banashi is a Shonen Jump manga that has been growing in popularity recently and will soon be getting an anime adaptation. Akane-banashi isn't a battle Shonen like My Hero Academia, but it definitely shares some elements that fans would enjoy.

Akane-banashi takes place in a school setting and the main character, Akane, wants to reach the highest rank in Rakugu. An anime for this series is scheduled to air in 2026and many fans can't wait.

Kagurabachi

Kagurabachi is one of the biggest hits of the new generation Weekly Shonen Jump has a lot to offer and revolves around stunning sword battles. The story sees Chihiro set out to retrieve enchanted blades, and if there's one direct replacement for MHA, it's probably this manga. Kagurabachi started in 2023 and based on reports, it definitely looks like the series will be getting an anime adaptation very soon.

A few interesting things lately a connection between My Hero Academia and Kagurabachi were also revealed. This surprised many fans Horikoshi, the creator of MHA, was heavily involved in the first chapter of Kagurabachioversees it. Horikoshi also talked about how the creator of Kagurabachi Hokazono, he helped him with the MHA chapter earlier.

Witch Ichi

Of all the new manga that fans can't stop comparing to My Hero Academia, there is Witch Ichi. Ichi the Witch started almost immediately after the end of My Hero Academiaand many referred to it as The successor series to My Hero Academia. In a world full of Majik, women can wield immense magic, and a young boy, Ichi, becomes the first male wizard.

Wizard Ichi was just a year old and still has a long way to go. However, many fans can see similar elements between the two series, such as the protagonists and even the power system. Fans can't wait for the day Witch Ichi gets an anime and reaches new heights of popularity.

Jujutsu Kaisen module

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is one of the latest manga series to join Weekly Shonen Jump. As the name suggests, this series is a sequel to none other than Gege Akutami's beloved series, Jujutsu Kaisen. Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia both left Jump at the same time, and Modulo has been the perfect replacement ever since.

unfortunately, Modulo will only be a short manga and will run for a few more monthsunless Gege changes plans. Yet for now Jujutsu Kaisen module was a wonderful and interesting change from the original series.

Gege Akutami is the creator of Jujutsu Kaisenand fans know that he recently finished his first manga. For quite a few years now, JJK was serialized side by side with My Hero Academia. Both Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia ended togetherjust a few months apart. This definitely hit Weekly Shonen Jump magazine hard.

However, Gege wants to return outside Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Gege wants to create a new story and it could be a big change from Jujutsu Kaisen. Whatever this new story is, fans know it's going to be massive and whatever Gege writes is sure to be huge and a potential replacement for series like JJK and MHA.

Undoubtedly, if there is one manga that could really fill this gap My Hero Academia left, that is a new series Horikoshi plans to create.

Based on the information available, whatever Horikoshi creates will be a a huge departure from My Hero Academia. However, there will still be similar elements in the writing as both would share the same creator. It is not known when Horikoshi's new manga will be releasedbut it's pretty clear he's already working on it. Fans are excited to see what he can come up with and look forward to his future projects.
