The Boruto the series introduced quite a few new faces who move the story forward with their actions and decisions. From the protagonist Boruto Uzumaki to the villains in the final chapters, the series has expanded the shinobi world to great lengths with these cast additions.
Top 10 Strongest Characters in Boruto, Ranked
From father to son and all of the many characters in between, these are Boruto's strongest characters.
However, among these characters in Borutosome actively spoil the story and drive fans crazy instead of elevating the series. Their presence left fans shaking their heads in disappointment as the series could have been better without them. From irritating characters who cause unnecessary problems to villains with poor development, Boruto has its fair share of characters that spoil the fun.
Kawaki Uzumaki
-
Kawaki Uzumaki is no stranger to backlash, as the adopted son of the Seventh Hokage is directly responsible for Naruto Uzumaki's unfortunate fate in the series. Sealing Naruto in a dimension where time doesn't pass is the last straw for fans who held out hope that Kawaki would become a better character after all the good that happened to him in Konoha.
Until now, however, Kawaki remains the same. Worse, he's headed down a dark path where no one, including Boruto, could save him anymore with his obsession to protect Naruto and become stronger than anyone else. Anyone who tries to sympathize with him is rejected, making him a lone wolf whose fixation could endanger everyone around him.

Momoshiki Otsutsuki
Having an overpowered alien as an antagonist is not new in the shinobi world, but the appearance of Momoshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto it didn't sit well with the fans. Many were frustrated with the series' decision to recycle the threat of the Otsutsuki clan instead of returning to an era where ninjas from different hidden villages fought each other.
Additionally, Momoshiki Otsutsuki's appearance in the series was given almost no proper build-up, so his introduction was poorly handled. If that wasn't enough, Momoshiki was used as a plot to accelerate Boruto Uzumaki's rise in power. In a remarkably short amount of time, Boruto Uzumaki has grown stronger than almost anyone else, a stark contrast to the older generation of shinobi who spent years mastering their skills through relentless training and hard work.
Code
Before the timeskip, Code was the primary villain Boruto. Naruto Uzumaki and his allies in Konoha were extremely wary of him because he carried the will of Isshiki Otsutsuki. He was a dangerous villain who could kill Naruto and his loved ones with his abilities, especially after Amado Sanzu removed his limiters.
However once Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes Early on, Code's villainous role became a shadow of his former self. Now he looks like a joke to someone who pushed Sasuke to his limits and threatened the very survival of Konoha. Instead of redeeming himself, he was easily manipulated by those around him, especially Jura. Currently, Code's whereabouts are unknown, but his presence is not missed.
Kobu
In the last chapters BorutoLord Kobu, the butler of the Fire Daimyo, annoys fans with his actions and decisions in Konoha. He appeared out of nowhere, knocking down Shikamaru's authority and meddling in things far beyond his expertise, leaving the reader frustrated with his unnecessary meddling.
Instead of making things better for Shikamaru and his allies, he continues to stir up political tension that seems incredibly unnecessary. The worst part is that he complicates it with scathing remarks that leave Shikamaru embarrassed. Because of this, many fans are hoping that Ikemoto will give Koba a dramatic and satisfying exit after his constant interference.

Sakura Uchiha
For most of Boruto manga, Sakura Uchiha is missing in action. Even after her husband goes insane, Sakura gets little or nothing, so fans aren't happy with how the series is relegating one of the most capable kunoichi of the older generation. Compared to Sasuke and Naruto, Sakura's role in Boruto minimal at best.
Additionally, with the current state of affairs in Konoha, Sakura is expected to take a more active role, yet she never showed up. While it's true that she's no longer a combat ninja and ran the medical institutes in Konoha, the village still needs her strength to fight alongside her daughter and her friends against the Shinju clones.
Shino Aburame
One of the biggest problems in Boruto there is a lack of exposure for the older generation of shinobi and Shino Aburame is no exception. However, what angers fans even more is that despite his unique abilities, Shino was reduced to a comical character that allowed the next generation of shinobi to make fun of him most of the time.
In other words, Shino in Boruto is the exact opposite of Shino in Naruto. Instead of thinking of creative ways to use Shin's abilities in battle, Boruto the series destroys his character by ignoring his intelligence and talents that once made him a fearsome ninja to fight.
Konohamaru Sarutobi
For many fans, Konohamaru Sarutobi is one of the biggest disappointments Boruto, as the once promising shinobi was surpassed in strength by almost every member of the new Team 7. Even in times of crisis, he often ends up being the one in need of rescuing instead of protecting others.
For someone looking to succeed Naruto Uzumaki, most fans are not impressed with Konohamaru's qualifications. His actions fall short of the leadership and strength expected of him. He also has no memorable exploits to prove his worth, so it's hard to see him as a credible candidate to become the next Hokage.
Hinata Hyuga
Like Sakura, Hinata Hyuga is heavily sidelined Boruto. All she does is take care of the Uzumaki household, spending her time running the home while her fighting skills and experience go unused. While there's nothing wrong with Hinata being a devoted housewife, the series fails to balance her home life with her role as one of Konoha's strongest kunoichi.
Hinata was supposed to carry on the legacy of the Hyuga clan, but she barely appears in the series. The Byakugan had also been sidelined, making her once feared vision irrelevant to most of them Boruto until now when her son woke it up. The worst part is that Hinata was sealed by Naruto, making her completely useless in the current arc.
