Itachi Uchiha was one of the strongest characters in the whole Naruto series. In the first part of the story, Itachi was almost invincible and hardly any character could stand up to him. Even the Legendary Sanin, known to be absolute monsters in battle, were no match for him, not even together.

Moreover, during the war Minato even awakened Kurama's powers and entered the KCM. Considering all these things, Minato was quite easily stronger than Itachi.

Obito Uchiha is another monstrously powerful ninja that many fans underestimate in the story. Even before he received the power of the Ten-Tails, Obito was a worthy match for Itachi. Although Obito himself stated that Itachi's presence kept him in check, this was before he received the Rinnegan.
After gaining the power of the Rinnegan, Obito was definitely stronger than Itachi. However, even though there was some doubt, Obito ended up becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails and that basically put him on a level higher than even the five Kage combined.
