One of the most interesting parts of the new Mario Kart post can be seen which old songs are redesigned and brought back as retro traces. In particular, Ghost Valley 2 is a classic with its tight corners and long straightways, which now have less railings to fall even easier. Choco Mountain has seen massive changes in MKW, crossing the chocolate mountain to the industrial factory with dirt everywhere and became one of the most fun MKW songs. When visiting a free roam, you can notice its predecessor from SNES, Choco Island 2, lurking in rocky terrain nearby.

This song is unforgettable because it is one of the few songs that forces you to pass through the massive risk of a mud swamp or chocolate sauce, depending on what you want to imagine. Choco Mountain may be an iconic track these days, but there would be nothing without an inheritance that Dirt Island 2 went in the first Mario Kart entry.

Ghost Valley 3 (SNES)

Fading of memories

Of all the tracks of Ghost Valley, Ghost Valley 3 is the one who gains the smallest love without reason. The other two were redesigned more than once, while Ghost Valley 2 was a particularly popular child who appeared in five games. Ghost Valley 3 was not in any Super Circuit game, but he will finally return to MKW hidden near the Boo cinema.

Even in comparison with the other two in MKW, this deserves more love because it has a design that is more interesting and diverse. With more winding paths, it is definitely more complicated than its counterparts, but that's all the more fun and should appear in a series more than its other variants.

Island Choco 1 (SNES)

Not so tasty but still fun

Choco Mountain was brought back as a whole course in MKW, but its original inspiration was not even omitted. The island of Choco 1 is a track from Super Mario Kart, which you will find around his younger sibling, Choco Mountain. Unfortunately, if you wanted a faithful ride along this classic course, you will meet with strange changes that extend the track while cutting sections.

The saddest part of the redesign of Choco Island 1 is that because the Choco mountain is no longer actually made of chocolate (despite the sky that are made of food), it loses a lot of magic we would like to see. The track, Troopa Koop Beach, which is part of the Shell Cup, is in fact Koopa Beach 2 from Super Mario Kart, but is renamed Koop Troop Beach beach, despite other traces using this title. This song may not be the most interesting, just a giant loop, but it is still a pleasure to shoot five rounds of chaos.

You may be wondering where the original beach KOOPA 1 is and fortunately through some free roam survey you can easily find south of Koop Troop Beach. By finding P-Switch on the track, you will have the task of competing with other drivers as well as the right race, but unfortunately it is the only way to play on this alternative loop.

Mario Circuit 1/2/3 (SNES)

Triple trouble

Mario Circuit, one of the first tracks of Mario Kart, has had a long history and has appeared in the series many times in various forms, each of which was designed around one of the three original layouts. In MKW, this song is back in a special cup, but you may not have noticed that it is now composed of all three layouts instead of only one.

With free Roam, however, you can take the time and race on each song individually, unlike the Grand Prix mode. There is also a P-SWitch that allows you to accept the time trial challenge that will guide you through each layout in one large dash with only two triple mushrooms and limited time, which requires you to take classic shortcuts.

KOOPA TROOPA BEACH (N64) / Cheep Cheep Beach (DS)

Not only no general beach

KOOPA TROOPA Beach is always a go-on beach track to bring back and MKW is no different. However, there is some love for other beach tracks in the hidden series. On the map between Koop Troopa and Wario, you can see two islands. If you head here in free Roam, you will find the P-SWITCH mission, which races around an abandoned island.

Although this secret composition is not identical, it has several elements from the original song MK 64, including its overall oval shape, which makes it feel like a small version of the track. It also shares some elements from Beach Cheep Cheep Beach and because of how close this island is to the real track Koop Troop Beach, it's more than a coincidence.

Ghost Valley 1 (SNES)

Don't fall …

Boo Cinema is one of the coldest songs in MKW, taking you to the film screen to chase the race with the added Boo misfortune. After the film, however, you may notice some recognizable wooden roads. Just before this song you will find almost perfect remake Ghost Valley 1 from Super Mario Kart, which has a P-Switch mission for you.

This song was the first attempt at a scary track of the series, and although it could have been darker on the classic SNES in MKW, it took a different direction. Instead of hanging through the bottomless pit of darkness, you now have to take care of falling into the toxic peat bog down, while less barriers keep you safe from falling on your destruction.

Bowser's Castle (SNES / GBA)

This is one song that we really do not know why it is hidden, because it would mean the perfect five laps, as well as the beach Koop Troopa.
