Collecting Heart pieces is an age-old tradition in Zelda franchises and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom carries the torch brilliantly into the future. From the moment Zelda is unleashed into the open world of Hyrule, she starts encountering Heart Pieces almost immediately. And while most of these health boosting items can be found without much trouble, there are a few that can be tricky to collect, even at the beginning. How to get a Piece of Beach Cave Heart
Suthorn Beach Cave:
If you missed the Heart Piece when you originally walked through beach cave, you can return to it by fast traveling to Suthorn Village and then heading west. It's a cave that you have to go through to get out of the beach area Suthorn Village. If you're coming from the west, you'll know you're entering a cave when you find the entrance blocked by several Sea urchin enemies.
Boulder Echo:
You will have to make sure that you get Boulder Echo get this piece of heart. There may be other heavy objects that can do the job, but if you want to get a piece of heart as soon as possible, a boulder is your best bet. Luckily, the place is impossible to miss, you just have to make sure you learn Echo.
When you leave Hyrule Castle for the first time, you enter a large hole in the ground to exit the courtyard. This will take you to a scrolling sequence with underwater sections. You will encounter a boulder blocking your path. Approach the rock and press ZR to learn Echo.
Just breaking it down:
When you get to the Beach Cave, you'll have to defeat one Kees. Then, as you move forward in the cave, you should be able to see the Heart Piece in a small chamber blocked by wooden boxes. There's a higher platform that it looks like you'll have to drop a boulder from to break the boxes, but reaching the platform can be overwhelming at first. With three echoes available, it doesn't seem possible to reach the plateau. That is, until you notice the obvious rock wall staring you in the face.
If you missed the climbable rock wall, don't worry, you're not the only one. The game doesn't seem to offer any indication that the wall can be climbed. But actually, this is how you get to a higher platform. To collect a Piece of Heart, follow these steps:
- Climb the rock wall to reach a higher platform
- Create a Boulder Echo at the edge of the platform and let it fall to break the box – it will only break one.
- Hold ZR to clear a boulder, then drop another on the next square.
- Repeat the process to break the third box.
- The chamber is now accessible. Collect a piece of heart.
