With the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater there is another version of MGS3. This is full of remake, which may be the best version of MGS3 ever. It is also one of the most distinctive.
While the story, characters, places and dialogue are the same, there are many other differences between this game and the original. These changes range from really big for quite a minute. The most important differences are naturally the largest, so here is the view of them.
Improved visual effects
The snake looks much better
Of course, when you have a new remake or remaster of the game, you expect improved visual elements. In this respect, not all remakes will succeed, but in Delta certainly improved.
Everything looks more smooth and realistic, from models to environment. This means it takes a little time to get used to some of the new characters. Snake looks just like an updated version, but similar steel and Eva look very different in this game.
Screen tips
For those who need help
It is known that older games include less hand holding than current titles. As a result, games like GEAR SOLID 3 have no big tips on the screen that told you what to do next. If you needed traces of how to proceed, you had to call your radio support team and hope to provide you with the required information.
Delta is a little more user -friendly and welcomes players who are used to holding hands in modern games. However, you can turn off these tips if you want more old school experience.
Over-the-raulder target
Makes it easier to shoot people
The shooting mechanics in the original Solid 3 gearbox is quite basic. For a third party you can only shoot directly in front of you, which means you are almost obliged to switch to the first person to get accurate shots.
Fortunately, Delta added a real aiming system that uses a cleaner third -person camera system. So you have a much better look at what you focus on and even get a mesh that allows you to be more accurate. This means that shooting with a third party is in remake a much more viable option than in the original.
Crouching
Speed and secrecy in one
Crouch Walking is not a new addition to a solid Metal Gear series as a whole, but it was not in the original snake. Back in the 2004 game you could perform a stationary crouch, but you can only move by crawling on your stomach or walking and running.
Since it is a stealth game, you do not want to walk or run so much if the coast is not entirely clear. Therefore, you spent most of the original title that crawled around, which can quite slow the game. Crouch Walking is a perfect middle finger because it is still secret, but also quite fast.
Button challenges
You do not have to worry about someone's neck cutting while interrogating
Old games often required you to remember all the controls that have taught you, or you looked at them in the manual if you forgot. Modern games, however, try to make life easier by giving you challenges for the button. Delta has changed with times by adding them to MGS3.
So, if you get near a tree, you'll see how the “Climb” button appears and when it crawls for the enemy, you get a “CQC” challenge. The new system is most useful when you grab enemies, because you can do a lot with them, so it's easy to forget which button does what. The inclusion of the prompts for the button makes it much easier. However, challenges can destroy immersion.
New controls
The triggers can now be used to focus and shoot
Once upon a time, you usually had to use the face buttons when using the controller. The use of triggers for focus and shooting did not become popular later. As a result, the square button is what you use to take pictures on the PS2 MGS3 version. And click on a single button and trigger a weapon.
In Delta you have a more modern control system in which you use triggers to shoot. In addition, the action button is X or and on the controller, instead of the triangle, because it is on MGS3 PS2. Overall, the controls are modernized and feel easier.
Switching camo while running
The camouflage is a large part of the original game and delta. In the original, however, you can only change Kamo by heading to the menu and selecting a uniform and face. In remake, however, you can turn on the fly by leaving the small Camo Mid-HR menu.
From there you can choose between the CAMO combination that the game or you created. It is a change in quality of life that will save you a lot of time, especially if you often switch between camos.
Adding a photo mode
Get some nice pictures
Nowadays there are plenty of games with exciting photos that allow you to capture various pictures. But it was not back when MGS3 originally released. The mechanic could not appear in the original Snake Eater, but contains in delta.
You can access the break menu during playback. With this, you can capture some of the impressive shots of the snake, enemy guards, the environment or anything else you consider remarkable. It really allows you to use the picturesque jungle.
