Weapons are incredibly rare during the Dying Light series, with melee weapons and smart environmental uses are most of the killing of zombies. This has changed in a great way DYING LIGHT: BEAST.

Looting ammunition from convoys
The best way to get more ammunition in the dying light: an animal is to find convoy on the map, which are military vehicles that almost always contain rare weapons and a decent amount of ammunition. While convoys tend to give you most ammunition, I found that the most reliable way to supply was taking human enemiesWho is formed on the map as soon as you complete the “Power Gambit”. At the end of this story mission, you set out for the first time against a bunch of people and several of them control weapons.
Not only can you take those weapons for yourself, But you can also rule out your bodies to get ammunition for them. From the end of “Power Gambit” you will see these enemies in Castor Woods and you can beat them to set off and get a chance for the next municipality. It is quite easy to deal with and ammunition is worth persecution, especially when you achieve the last few story missions. It is worth noting that only enemies control weapons ammunition and always corresponds to the weapon they carry.
If you are trying to deal with human enemies, I have found that the best way to take them off is with Dropkick and some rushing close attacks.
Purchase of ammunition in the store
Outside these two methods is the most reliable way to get ammunition in an animal Buy it on one of two hiding out the game. Be warned but buying with money can be very expensive and is best stored as the last option.
Sometimes you get ammunition from certain story missions and side tasks, although it's not super reliable, so I wouldn't count on it over these other methods.
