Hideo Kojima won't forget. Although after the release of Metal Gear Solid 5, it leaves Konami under terrible conditions: Phantom's pain and the abolition of Silent Hills ten years ago remains synonymous with both properties. Both projects are represented by the creators and his team, who are all snuffed to the top of their potential, giving viewers the means to demonstrate support and rebels to the same extent.
Metal Gear Solid 5, although one of the most impressive secret games of all time, is basically unfinished from a narrative perspective. It seems that the third act is missing in action after the development was forcibly packed by Konami, while the creative team was forced to end the series on a place that did not make a name in the least justice. It is shy that we will never see that the story ended at its well -deserved end, but Kojima Productions that are doing everything to reappear these narratives according to their own conditions.
What happened to the quiet hills?
Silent Hills, developed by Kojima Productions and named Director Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima, have also brought many original Horror Legends team to work on the project. It was a plan until it was canceled during production. I have no idea how much work was done on quiet hills and whether it even resembled a real game when it was suddenly burned, but I know it had the potential to be incredible.
However, before the Silent Hills was unveiled, we had a friend known as a playable trailer, this short, but the iconic demo dropped in August 2014 and immediately set the game world. We had no idea what it was for the beginning, and the fact that it was released free of charge after the Sony Gamescom press conference meant that millions of players jumped to find out what it was.
Everything about PT was absolutely scary, from his claustrophobic perspective of the first person to his loop and constantly changing design. You asked questions about the truth about it all at every step when you looked at the chaotic plates near the front door or tried to call in vain, while scary sounds began to appear in the background. It was worrying, but as soon as the door began to open and close their own will and blood covered refrigerators began to hang from the ceiling, it took a one -way trip to the scary. Don't even start the fetus in the sink.
Konami eventually eliminates PT from the sale makes a logistic sense when you believe that it exists for promoting a product that no longer exists, but still feels as if the work of art has been erased forever.
After solving the intricate puzzles that you avoided the jump sluts, they took a certain number of steps and spoke very specific phrases into the microphone, you could escape the house and start the trailer on the silent hills. This revealed the involvement of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro together with Norman Reedus, who played as the main character. When I all developed in real time in 2014, it was incredible, as was the trailer for trailer and other materials that followed it. When it was abolished and Kojima left Konami, it was as if a future classic was in the crib. Now he watches his scary tracks.
From the revival of the quiet hills we were waiting for
He has evolved in cooperation with the acclaimed horror director Jordan Peele (Get Out, USA, not) and in the lead role as Hunter Schafer and Sophia Lillis feel like the spiritual successor of various hills. Kojima finally takes his first dive into the horror of survival, and this time there is nothing in his way. It seems that it will also be an interactive horror anthology, and the recently exposed “knock” is his first entry.
The debut trailer contains the character of Sophie Lillis, who goes to a sparse apartment before she illuminates a series of still disturbing candles next to the window. Blood, worms or other viscera are starting to pass from their wax viscera, while strange sounds such as doors that are banging or crying children are beginning to approach the background. It is a terrifying trailer and the look in Lillis's eyes tells us that something is going very, very badly.
Obviously, this whole sequence is portrayed in advance and not representative for playing, but as a tonal piece for me, it is convinced that this game will be something special with the use of an inconspicuous urban environment and normal people who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances. Horror is often the most effective when they feel anchored in what we consider to be known and how our normative existence can be reversed in a sudden darkness.
Kojima Productions has shown that she has an understanding of a modern world with games like Death Stranding, and I can't wait to see how mechanically and narrative it is expanding from it. Silent Hills will never work, but the ghosts seem to be equal only to give Hideo Kojim and a creative group of collaborators another chance to define again how we came to perceive the horror of the Blockbuster video game.
