Luffy's defeat in Elbaf is now inevitable

This article contains spoilers for the One Piece series.

Elbaf is the second arc One Piece's The Final Saga and is quite easily one of the most exciting in the story at the moment. So far, Elbaf has proven to be truly unique and stands out as one of the best arcs of the series, even though it has yet to come to a close. Since its inception last year, fans have witnessed an incredible amount of revelations about the lore, including the deep secrets of the God Valley incident.

at this point One Piece's The Elbaf arc did a good job of putting the fans in perspective of how strong Imu is and how hard it is for Luffy to take them down at the moment. If the alliance made up of Rocks, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, Roger and Garp he could do no harm to Imathen Luffy really has no chance. Right now, Luffy vs Imu can only end in a gruesome defeat for the series protagonist.

Imu Is Far Beyond Luffy's Level in One Piece

  • Imu could take 6 highest levels

  • Luffy isn't even on Rocks level yet

If there was one thing fans were always sure of, it was that Imu would prove to be very strong, but few expected Imu to be so strong that he would finish off Rocks with a single attack. Fans now know that Imu's powers are far beyond anything Oda has demonstrated before, and Oda showed this when he showed Imu emerging unscathed from a powerful Alliance attack in One Piece Chapter 1163. In God Valley Rocks, Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, Roger and Garp all attacked Ima suddenly, and yet it meant nothing.

At this point Luffy isn't even on Rocks level let alone as strong as an alliance of the 6 strongest One Piece characters of all time. At least fans believed that Imu channeling his powers through a subordinate would freak them out enough for Luffy to fight, but after seeing what Imu-Saturn he did in God Valley.

If Oda really passes Imu vs Luffy battleit can really only end there Luffy's defeat. Even if Luffy unlocks Advanced Conqueror's Haki, it won't be enough to do any substantial damage to Imu. That could be it Oda prepares a capture and rescue arc for Luffybut the truth can only be that Oda replaces the main villain Elbaf instead.

Could Luffy really be defeated in Elbaf?

Gear 5 Luffy in Egghead - One Piece

  • Luffy could fall against Imo

  • Oda could switch the main villain to Loki

When Imu took over the body of Gunko, many believed that she would be the main enemy in the fight on Elbafa, and while that may still be the case, Oda may surprise fans with what she has in store.

More than likely, Loki will now be the main villain of the arc, but with a bit of a twist. Loki could have been attacked by Domi Reversiand made Elbaf a real villain. This confrontation would make a lot more sense for Luffy's level right now.

Loki stands up and shows how big he is - One Piece

Imu and possibly the Holy Knights might retreat soon. After all, fans have to remember that Marijoa is in trouble, which is why Imu came to Elbaf to sort things out quickly.

If Imu really leaves, perfect battles will be prepared –Luffy vs Loki, Zoro vs Dorry and Sanji vs Brogy. This arc advances their Conqueror Haki and teach them how to bypass immortality.

The next chapter of One Piece will be released this week. As usual, One Piece drops on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops Monday at 12pm JST. However, the vast majority of international readers will see the chapter available on October 26th. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
