The Leaper, formerly known as the Bison, is one of the largest ARC machines roaming the Rust Belt v ARC Raiders. One of the deadly attacks involves jumping from a long distance and dealing a crushing blow to players, often knocking them out in one hit. Players will eventually need to defeat the Leaper and retrieve the Leaper Pulse Unit from his body in order to craft and complete the Into the Fray quest. Here's how to easily destroy a Leaper and salvage its parts.
Where to find Leapers (Bison) in ARC Raiders (Into the Fray)
Dam Battlegrounds is the map that players are most familiar with, and the two confirmed locations always spawn a Leaper ARC Raiders. One of the locations is just east of Hydroponic dome complexand the other is close Water treatment control elevator. There's a good chance you'll find a Leaper in one or both of these places in a match.
Before starting a raid and entering a match, be sure to grab the following equipment defeat Leaper v ARC Raiders easily. This list will contain some of the more commonly available equipment, but if you have access to it, you can equip it with higher level equipment (since it will drop the Leaper faster).

Primary weapon |
Anvil |
Both support Heavy-Ammo, which offers high ARC armor penetration. You must have one of these in your weapons, or a better weapon with higher ARC armor. |

Secondary weapon |
No |
You can take any secondary weapon with your primary as long as it can deal medium to long range damage. Arpeggio is my personal choice in this category, but you can choose any weapon that suits you. If you have a Hullcracker, it will make it a lot easier to take down the Leaper. |
|
Utilities |
Blaze Grenades |
You should have at least three Blaze Grenades in your inventory. An easy method depends on this, which will be shown in the next section. Players can find Blaze while looting or craft it (requires a plan) at a level 3 explosive station with 1x explosive mix and 2x oil. |
How to get a Leaper pulse unit in ARC Raiders (easy/cheesy method)
Once you find a Leaper (Bison) roaming around one of these areas, you will have to find a safe place first before launching an attack. For example, you can position yourself in the Dome door if a Leaper spawns near the Hydroponic Dome complex, or inside the Field Depot near the Water Treatment Elevator if you end up fighting a Leaper there.
If there are any other ARC drones in the area, such as wasps or hornets, make sure you take them out first before engaging the Leaper in ARC Raiders.
Once you find cover, shoot the Leaper in the eye with a weapon compatible with heavy ammo, such as the Ferro or Anvil. This will draw the Leaper to your location, but he can't enter smaller spaces, so you'll be safe inside your cover.
Start the fight with it he threw a Blade Grenade aimed at Leaper's eye to make it burn. While it's burning, shoot its eye with your weapons. Once the Blaze Grenade goes off, you can throw another one and burn it. Blaze Grenades are highly effective against Leapers as fire is their main weakness.
Leaper may try to retreat during battle, so you can chase him while you're on guard his jump and EMP surge attacks. After landing enough shots (with heavy ammo) into the Leaper's eye while it's on fire, it will eventually be destroyed.
After you take down the Leaper, first try to loot his destroyed eye part get a Leaper Pulse Unit in ARC Raiders. Make sure you stash it in your safe pocket immediately so you don't have to worry about it not making it back to Speranza if something bad happens to your raider during extraction. You can now use it either as a crafting component or to complete the quest Into the Fray v ARC Raiders.
