ARC Raiders Update 1.2.0 Hit one target too hard

ARC RaidersNorth Line 1.2.0 update is an exciting new chapter for the escape shooter. With this latest update ARC Raiders players can now face new ARC enemies, gain access to new weapons, and start contributing to the Breaking New Ground community event to unlock the Stella Montis map. Unfortunately, not all changes in this update are positive, like one of them ARC RaidersThe best skills were nerfed much harder than necessary.

As a PvPvE extraction shooter, the formula for ARC Raiders is one part prey and one part fight. Players can choose where they want to prioritize their skill investments in this game loop from the inside ARC RaidersThree skill trees: fitness, mobility and survival. One of the best skills for ARC Raiders What players invest in if they want to maximize the loot they earn comes in the form of the survival tree's Security Breach skill, which is the subject of 1.2.0's most controversial change.

Security Breach serves as one of two final nodes ARC RaidersA survival skill tree and can be the perfect capstone for builds focused on getting rare loot from runs above.

  • Security breach: Allows you to break security lockers.

Although the Security Breach skill itself remains the same, the value of the loot that can now appear in security lockers has been significantly reduced. Previously, safes were known to contain rare loot such as:

  • Epic (purple) weapons

  • False

  • Wolfpack grenades

  • Complex weapon parts

While these safes usually also contained a mixture of rare and common quality materials, players were very likely to find a few epic quality items as well. However after ARC RaidersUpdate 1.2.0, Security Lockers seem to contain this epic quality item much less often, making the Lockers much less appealing than other containers found in high value areas ARC Raiders' maps.

The security breach was already severe enough to be used as it was

The most disappointing aspect of this nerf is that it was largely unnecessary as Security Breach was already difficult enough before the patch. As the top node of the survival skill tree, unlocking Breach requires players to invest 37 skill points into the tree, meaning they need to reach at least level 37 to unlock it. This feat alone is enough to reward a hefty loot, but players must also successfully find a safe and extract its contents to obtain this rare loot, creating a challenging task that should be rewarding. ARC Raiders players who play smart.

ARC Raiders players who have lost the original security breach skill now have a disadvantage

A guide to looting all ARC Raiders loot and materials

By nerfing loot that can drop out of safes, ARC Raiders has now created a divide between players who had access to the skill before the patch and those still working to unlock it after the North Line update. Players who took advantage of the Security Breach prior to 1.2.0 and found useful loot such as Epic materials needed to upgrade their workbenches and stock up on powerful weapons now have an advantage over players who have to deal with lower quality drops from Security Cabinets after this nerf.

Thanks to the Security Breach skill, you can quickly find valuable blueprints ARC Raiders players up for success in a row. Now, any player unlucky enough to take advantage of the security breach before they have a nerf to scale a larger mountain without the rare loot from security lockers as a reward for the time and investment in leveling their survival tree. In order to create a more even playing field, the safe boxes were to remain unchanged, even if it meant that players could still farm rare loot from them.
