Black Ops 7 Absolutely Clears Battlefield 6 Campaign

After months of anticipation, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is here, and while it's been a divisive and controversial addition to the franchise, plenty of gamers will be diving into the new chapter this weekend. How long Call of Duty fan, notification for Black Ops 7 I felt conflicted. On the one hand, I was intrigued by the futuristic setting and themes of the game, but on the other hand, I thought that some of the choices the developers made might be too risky.

Well, now this Black Ops 7 it's here, I played the campaign, and while it has a few significant issues, it's a solid time. I know not everyone cares Call of Duty campaigns because they are often incredibly short and sometimes downright fun. Black Ops 7The campaign certainly won't be for everyone, but when it comes to its number one competitor, Battlefield 6the first named definitely comes out on top.

When it comes to campaigns, Black Ops 7 is simply more fun than Battlefield 6

black ops 7 review

I enjoyed myself Black Ops 7's campaign. I said it. It's definitely controversial because there were a lot of wild decisions made during development, but in terms of the overall experience, I just had more fun than Battlefield 6. Don't get me wrong. I had a great time Battlefield 6but only with multiplayer. How I wanted to enjoy myself Battlefield 6's campaign, I just couldn't relate to the story. For a game that has such action-packed multiplayer, the thrills really die down once you try the campaign. There are a lot of fans who weren't thrilled Battlefield 6and given that the franchise mainly thrives in multiplayer, it's not surprising anyway. I certainly didn't expect to enjoy it though Black Ops 7he is just like me

Black Ops 7The main cast includes actors Kiernan Shipka, Milo Ventimiglia and Michael Rooker.

I was fully prepared to hate Black Ops 7's campaign

The first trailer for Black Ops 7 it felt more like a psychological horror than a military shooter, and while I love that type of story, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for in another Call of Duty game. Despite the psychological elements being a little wonky and the ending falling flat, the risks Treyarch and Raven Software took were mostly refreshing, even if I initially wanted something different.

It took some getting used to such a different approach ka Call of Duty campaign, but after a while I stopped thinking about the flaws and just focused on the fun. Black Ops 7The campaign is definitely not classic Call of Duty experience, and that has already disappointed a lot of players. However, for me, what really intrigued me was the developers' vision of what the landscape of the military and the tech world could look like in 10 short years.

The Guild's robots bear an uncanny resemblance to actual products from Boston Dynamics, while news like Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek investing in military AI company Helsing feels uncannily close to the entities that Black Ops 7 is touching. Granted, with the campaign only taking about five hours to play through, it's not like the story delves particularly deeply into these themes, which is a shame, but it's a fascinating premise that I wanted to learn more about.

However, Black Ops 7's biggest campaign issues shouldn't be ignored

  • The campaign is online.

  • Players have been kicked out of the campaign due to inactivity, which is incredibly frustrating.

  • There are no checkpoints in the missions.

Black Ops 7's launch weekend is a defining moment

Rivalry between Battlefield and Call of Duty returned to full swing this year. Neither game is perfect by any means, but s Battlefield 6 being one of the strongest entries in a long time, it definitely puts it Black Ops 7 in a difficult position. Ultimately, the success of both games will not be determined by whether the campaign is good or not. At this point in the campaign in Call of Duty and Battlefield games are just an extra dose of action in addition to multiplayer. How after this opening weekend Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6 both approaches to post-launch content are likely to matter much more than the quality of their campaigns.

EA has expressed its ambitions Battlefield 6 reach 100 million players. This will be an incredibly difficult goal to achieve, especially if Black Ops 7 it will eventually come out on top in the weeks following its launch.

The story doesn't have to be groundbreaking to offer good entertainment

Yes, I had a good time Black Ops 7's campaign, but it's far from an ideal story and experience. It's still a watered down version of what it could have been, but I applaud the developers for not being afraid to take risks with the level designs and approach to difficulty levels. Black Ops 7 won't take any accolades for its story, but I didn't find myself mentally testing myself as Battlefield 6and that definitely counts for something. Honestly, it's actually impossible to mentally check when the campaign is basically holding you hostage with a lack of checkpoints and inaction penalties, so maybe that has something to do with it. Also before reaching Black Ops 7In Endgame, the campaign is an interesting story in itself, and while I think this take on the finale is interesting, it didn't pay off as I had hoped.

The campaign is solid for what it is, and it's important to note that not every story in the game needs to be something mind-blowing. It can just be fun. I've been a gamer for over 20 years at this point, and over the years I've consistently gravitated towards titles that have thought-provoking stories. The last of us, Alan Wake, God of Warand Death Stranding it's one of my favorites, but sometimes it's also beneficial to just sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in an interesting story that isn't too emotionally overwhelming and Black Ops 7 it balances it out pretty well while still offering a lot of fun gameplay.
