Black Ops 7 is the lowest rated game in the series

Between the calling cards of AI, one of the most controversial campaigns in the history of the series, the stiff competition offered by Arc Raiders and Battlefield 6, and Game Pass potentially hemorrhagic sales like last year, it's safe to say that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is not doing well.

It's already facing an all-time low maximum player count and plummeting user review scores within its first week of launch, taking Modern Warfare 3's crown as the worst-rated mainline Call of Duty to date.

Is it at least 0.1 points higher on PC?

Users are decrying everything from the “predatory” business model to the “skibidi WC” style campaign, and condemning it as a “complete failure” and the “worst CoD” to date.

“What was once the best and most immersive wargame on any console has turned into a money-grabbing AI and skinning nightmare,” said Rowey710.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is a catastrophic failure of a campaign that is paired with a decent multiplayer mode,” wrote AdrixStrifeNeo. “This 'sequel' is a mindless, always-online, co-op-enforced mess that actively punishes solo players with no pause function, no AI support, and aggressive AFK timers.”

Things aren't much better on Steam either, with Black Ops 7 having a “Mixed” user rating, with many complaining that the studio is “out of touch with what players want” and chastising the offered “AI-generated issues”. “Purchasing this game was literally the worst use of money I've ever experienced [made] in my 22 years of being alive,” he said in September.

With most of the criticism focused on the campaign, it's hard to imagine Black Ops 7 digging itself out of this hole, no matter how good the post-launch support might be. Time will tell; it is by far the lowest-rated entry in the series so far.
