Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 he can be ripped online for his campaign and general desire to be seen Battlefield 6 to win the competition this time, but fans of the core multiplayer and Zombies mode still have a lot to appreciate. On the multiplayer front, Black Ops 7 launched with a wide variety of quality maps while softening SBMM and bringing back a persistent lobby that has addressed several criticisms of recent entries. On the Zombies front, Ashes of the Damned is packed with easter eggs, bringing back small-scale survival maps for those looking for something a little simpler, while bringing a number of quality-of-life improvements. The Cursed mode is also a highlight, precisely through this alternative form of play Black Ops 7The already huge camo grind is about to get even deeper.
While Black Ops 7The Weapon Prestige feature introduces some lengthy camo unlocking processes, such as the Weaponized 115 requiring players to level up the Echo 12 Shotgun hundreds of times, there are a trio of exclusive Pack-a-Punch zombie camos that take a different approach. As opposed to spending dozens of hours upgrading a specific weapon, these unlocks will require players to complete Ashes of the Damned's main quest multiple times, with some brutal modifiers on top. At the time of writing this article, Cod Zombie expert MrRoflWaffles, less than 1% of players have access to the first of these special camouflages. And because some relics in BO7 Zombies remain undiscovered, the final version is available to literally no one yet.
Black Ops 7's Ash Pack-a-Punch camos will push zombie players to their limits
As of now, the first of these three Pack-a-Punch camos – called Caustic Ash – is the one that players are sure how to get. Unlocking this special Zombies camo requires players to do the following:
-
Unlock access to Cursed Mode relics by completing the Ashes of the Damned main quest.
-
Unlock and equip three different Relics to gain access to Cursed Tier 1. This gives players access to Golden Armor to make it easier, but with Relics debuffs – such as the four perk limit – the difficulty evens out.
-
Complete the main quest again with three Relics equipped.
Currently, only six of the nine Cursed Relics have been found, these being the Dragon Wings, the Legal Pen, the Teddy Bear, the Vril Sphere, the Focusing Stone, and the Blood Amial.
Given how low the completion rate is for the main quests, and that many players will complete the quest once and then never touch it again, it's no surprise that few players have earned this mask, and even fewer will get its variants. While it's purely speculation at this point, it can be assumed that the red and green variants — Molten Ash and Putrid Ashe — are unlocked at Tier 2 and Tier 3 of Cursed, respectively. This means that players will have to beat the main quest with six Relics equipped, and then again with all nine Relics equipped, which will undoubtedly be extremely difficult. On the other hand, Treyarch has announced that the final boss of the Ashes of the Damned main quest will be nerfed in the near future, which should make things a little more manageable.
Still, there's no denying that these will be the most challenging camos in the game, as unlocking Relics also requires some extra effort from players. Each Relic unlock requires players to complete a unique side easter egg on Ashes of the Damned that appears after round 20, and then have to go through a difficult trial such as random drops that are fatal or several rounds of combat with only Shock Mimics. Considering how players first have to go out of their way to get relics and then replay the easter egg with modifiers like rounds starting 75% faster and ammo crates being removed from the map, it's safe to assume that these three alternative Pack-a-Punch skins will only make a tiny fraction of the money. Cod player base.
Black Ops 7's alternative Pack-a-Punch Camos are likely just the beginning
It's worth noting that the three gorgeous camouflage masks for Ash's weapons are a never-before-seen design. Instead, they come straight from the classics BO3 Gorod Krovi zombie map. So it can be assumed that in addition to a new PaP design with each map, players will be able to unlock three versions of the returning camo design with each new map. While not confirmed, it would make sense and would be a great way to reward players for completing future main quests in Cursed mode. There are plenty of memorable Pack-a-Punch designs that could make a comeback, as it's easy to imagine the three variations of Mob of the Dead's fire camo or Origins 115's blue camo that avid fans liked and were designs they'd really want to grind for. Ultimately, the difficulty of these alternate PaP camos is what makes them so special, and it's exciting to have something new to try beyond the Camos and Calling Cards mastery.
