A remarkable leaker just claimed Fate 3 is in early development. Bungie has had a tough year with major setbacks and unfortunate milestones affecting its current and future live-action titles, so the studio may be looking to turn things around with a new game. A sequel is not officially confirmed Fate 2 not yet, but something is said to be in the works.
Despite a strong start to 2017, Bungie's flagship shooter has struggled to maintain a significant player base of late. In early October, Fate 2 hit its lowest-ever 24-hour concurrent player peak on Steam, after a month in which the number of concurrent users only topped 50,000 once. These record lows come as longtime fans cite numerous complaints about many of the game's recent changes, and now it seems Bungie may try to bounce back by giving players something big to look forward to.

According to the leak, the game is still in its early stages, but more information may be available in the coming months as development continues. When Bungie revealed the news Destiny 2: Renegades content plan, stated that it is delaying the full state of the game and multi-year plan until 2026, which may indicate something big is in the works. It is possible that the start of work on Fate 3 was behind the bounce, though Bungie has yet to elaborate on its reasoning.
It's also worth noting that Bungie released a Fate 2 a player survey in which many questions revolve around how users perceive potential features. In the light Fate 3 News, the developers may seem to be gauging interest in quality-of-life improvements and new mechanics that could make their way into the new game. Of course, these changes can only be for Fate 2but if any tweaks go well, it could inform development decisions for a third title. In this way, the last era Fate 2 it can serve as a proof of concept of what may and may not work Fate 3.
As a live service game, Fate 2 could theoretically continue indefinitely instead of Bungie releasing an entirely new entry in the series. However, the game's reputation has sunk to new lows, so it would make sense if the studio decided it would be a better use of resources to start from scratch. After all that Fate 2's fights and Marathon is shelved indefinitely, Bungie needs to win, so remake Fate franchise is a sensible strategy to win back fans. Second Fate the game is also fast approaching the 10-year mark since its release, so maybe it's time to breathe new life into the IP.

Sony has confirmed that it is then re-evaluating the PlayStation studio model ConcordThe company's failure, taking greater measures to ensure that its targeted live services games don't fail in the same way. Considering how Marathon and Fate 2 have left recently, there could be a lot at stake Fate 3 in the midst of this shift. But for now, the future Fate the series is unclear. Colony Deaks said the next game is in “very early development” so it may take a while, probably at least a couple of years, to come out.
