Leaks hinted at the possibility Fortnite players are unable to plan exactly where they want to land when they exit the Battle Bus, which has worried players in the competitive scene. Although only seen in the first part of the game, before the match even starts, the Battle Bus is a key feature Fortnite. It is the Battle Bus that sets the game in motion and each player must interact with it to get to the island.
While most features in Fortnite have been modified in recent years, the Battle Bus has remained more or less the same. Epic Games changed its appearance for seasonal events and special occasions, but these changes were purely cosmetic. Back in Chapter 1, a patch made it so players could thank bus drivers before they jump off when they hit the emote button. The “thank the bus driver” option was mostly introduced as a fun addition to the elimination channel early in the game, but it's also a milestone task every season, meaning players get XP for doing it consistently every match.

Rumor has it that Storm will take a different shape in the next chapter, so it's quite possible that the Battle Bus route won't be straight anymore either. Players have gotten used to how the Battle Bus has worked for the past eight years, so this monumental change will certainly be difficult to get used to.
While this may not sound like much at first, it will greatly affect the initial game Fortnite. Players who have a landing spot Fortnite it may not always land there. It forces the player to explore other parts of the island and maybe even find a new favorite, but it could be annoying if they prefer to go to their usual place where they feel comfortable rather than visiting a place they are not that familiar with.
