Assassin's Creed Shadows Dev says we'll see more of Kassandra in the future

Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed Shadows keep us guessing with every update. More than a week ago, the company shelved an investor call at the last minute, sparking takeover rumors. It turned out that the company was actually doing quite well, and Shadows were selling above expectations.

Recently, Shadows' Attack on Titan crossover was criticized for having terrible cutscenes. And despite its success, the game's second expansion was canceled. Now it seems that the series will bring back Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey and even plans to keep her for future content.

Kassanda could possibly return to Assassin's Creed

In the latest Shadows update, they've finally added references to The Isa, a progenitor race that featured heavily in the pre-RPG era. There was also a reference to Kassandra and other protagonists from previous games. We've already seen Kassandra appear in AC Valhalla now that she's immortal, but associate game director Simon Lemay-Comtois hints that she could have a more massive role in the future.

“We really want to see Kassandra there,” Lemay-Comtois told JorRaptor (thanks, GamesRadar). “And yes, she's immortal at this point, and she could very well show up in Japan, so we tied that in a bit. Without revealing what it was, we made up a story about her going to Japan. What was she doing there? She did more, seemingly, than just put things in a cave.”

He revealed that she obviously didn't carry all this stuff around the world by herself and probably had a whole crew to help. But all this wasn't just a fun Easter egg, Lemay-Comtois explained. “We have a rationale as to why there is a statue of Kassandra in the cave brought by Kassandra. We may uncover it sometime later. We've done our homework. [didn’t] just drop Kassandra in there. And this isn't the last Isu content that will be in Assassin's Creed Shadows.”

I've already forgotten everything that happens in Assassin's Creed Shadows

Shadows may have perfected RPG combat, but it's one of the most forgettable Assassin's Creed games to date.

Based on this information, it looks like Kassandra could be a recurring character in the future of the series. Perhaps he will take on a sort of mentoring role for future protagonists.
