DLC from ZA gives one leaked mega evolution 3 years later

Despite already introducing 26 new Mega Evolutions, Pokemon Legends: ZA is about to expand that list even more in the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC. Pokemon Legends: ZA has already announced new DLC Megas for Raichu, Chimecho, Baxcalibur, and Zeraor, with even more leaked to take on new forms. However, one of these leaked new Megas feels like it missed the boat by a mile and would have been more appropriate if it had been released three years ago.

In addition to the new Mega Evolutions confirmed for DLC, there are several others that have been leaked, including:

  • Absol (second form)

  • Staraptor

  • Garchomp (second form)

  • Lucario (second form)

  • Heatran

  • Darkrai

  • Golurk

  • Meowthic

  • Crabominable

  • Golisopod

  • Magearna

  • Scovillain

  • Glimmora

  • Tatsugiri

It's nice to see more Gen 9 representation among these leaked Megas, as Baxcalibur marks the first Paldeo mon to get a Mega. Scovillain, Glimmora, and Tatsugiri are great additions to the Mega lineup, but it's Glimmora that would benefit the most from a stronger form. Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Legends: ZA's Leaked Mega Glimmora would be better in Scarlet and Violet

Although Mega Evolution is not in Pokemon Scarlet and VioletMega Glimmora definitely could have used Mega form at the beginning of Gen 9, rather than the end of it. The Rock/Poison critter isn't the most memorable mon to come out of the Paldea region, and its stats aren't anything to write home about either. Glimmora has an exclusive ability in the form of Toxic Debris, which dispels Toxic Spikes when hit with a physical move, and an exclusive attack in Mortal Spin, which removes binding effects like Leech Seed and entry hazards like Spikes, but she never excelled in battle.

Glimmora is an incredible fighter, but has an interesting lore

Glimmora's forgettable fighting abilities only highlight a major missed opportunity to put a Pokémon with a potentially vital lore on a pedestal. Scarlet and Violet. Glimmora are one of the few creatures found in the Zero Underdepths Region, where the Terastal phenomenon originates. Additionally, their bodies resemble Tera Jewels and Glimment Crystals are used to make TMs for Tera Blast, showing that there is a clear connection between the Pokémon and the Terastal Phenomenon that is not fully explained in the game.

The Teal Mask DLC also sees Glimmora spawn near the Crystal Pool in Kitakami, where Terastal Crystals can be found, furthering this connection.

Mega Glimmora could have made Scarlet and Purple's fight against Geeta more intense

While a new Mega Evolution is coming for Glimmora Pokemon Legends: ZAThe DLC could finally shed some light on the hidden power within these creatures, coming too late to reverse players' first impressions. The most notable part of Glimmora's presence in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the fact that he serves as the ace of Champion Geeta's team. Instead of having a Psuedo-Legendary like Metagross or Dragonite as her ace, Geeta's Glimmora serves as an anticlimactic ending to an overall easy boss fight.

If Glimmora could have Mega Evolved during the fight against Geeta, it would have been a much bigger threat than it was. It's understandable why Glimmora didn't join Mega Evolve Scarlet and Violetgiven that the mechanic did not return until release Legends: ZA. However, even if Geeta's Glimmora was the only example of Mega Evolution v Scarlet and Violetit would make her battle much more memorable and could serve as a hint that Mega Evolution will indeed return. Pokemon Legends: ZA three years later.

Geeta Terastalizes her Glimmora during the Battle of Champions, but is still weaker than she would have been if she had Mega Evolved instead.
