You will be playing as Sung Jinwoo for the majority of the fights in the main story Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrivebut smart team building, using only the strongest hunters you can afford to recruit, can be the difference between life and success in your mission, or death and being forced to try again.
Each Hunter in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive brings something unique to the table, both with the element they specialize in and the consistent combat role they'll play when placed on your team. Spend your hard-earned Hunter Coins on only the strongest Solo Leveling: Encourage Overdrive Hunters and power up.
Since Lee Joohee, Song Chiyul, and Yoo Jinho are unlocked by default through the story progression in chapters one and two, we left them off the list. These are the Hunters with whom you will have to negotiate a labor contract after completing the third chapter of the main story.
Choi Jong-In

Difficulty of recruitment |
Hard |
S-Rank Hunter, if you're a fan of Solo Leveling, then Choi Jong-In needs no introduction. He is the strongest hunter in the series and you will see Sung Jinwoo marveling at him when you first meet him in the player center. Despite being one of the harder bargains, this infamous Hunter is worth its weight in Hunt Coins.
This is because Choi Jong-In has some of the highest base attack stats of any Hunter in the game, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to deal damage when he serves as a Mage in combat.
Not only does Choi Jong-In have really good AoE damage, but the combo of Burn damage he can do with his Fire skills and blasting enemies while they are trembling is one of his specialties on the field.
Amamiya Mirei

Element |
Wind |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Murderer |
|
Difficulty of recruiting |
Hard |
Amamiya Mirei will already be familiar to you if you're a fan of the manhwa after Solo Leveling Arise received a spinoff volume. Not only is this Wind Slayer great on her own in combat, but unlocking a second Hunter in Woo Jinchul will make the pair of them snarl unstoppably.
You can expect Amamiya Mirei to do excellent burst damage on the field, and her Super Armor makes it much harder to hit in any meaningful way when enemies are on the counter. She is canonically ready for battle and will show you what she can bring to your team builds.
Woo Jinchul
|
Element |
Wind |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Fighter |
|
Difficulty of recruiting |
Hard |
As noted above in Amamiya Mirei's entry in our list of the best hunters to recruit, in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive you'll find that Woo Jinchul is an almost perfect match for the aforementioned Wind Assassin. Even on its own, though, you'll find plenty of uses for Woo Jinchul on the field.
With such impressive protection and penetration abilities, it's basically a must if you want to do any meaningful defensive hits to allow other teammates to rush in and attack while the enemy is down and distracted. He goes with almost every Wind character, but with Amamiya Mireis is where you'll see him shine the brightest.
Baek Yoonho

Element |
Light |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Fighter |
|
Difficulty of recruiting |
Hard |
While you'll have to get used to the much more challenging playstyle of a character like Baek Yoonho, especially if you end up using him in Co-Op Play, you'll have no shortage of impressive moves and skills on this Light Fighter.
Not only does Baek Yoonho have pretty great DPS compared to other characters in his class, but you'll also find that he's nearly indestructible himself. He has a stunning defensive stat that goes well with his heavy DPS, allowing him to get up close and personal with enemies he takes out before clearing them with ease.
Nam Chae-Young
|
Element |
Aqua |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Archer |
|
Difficulty of recruiting |
Easy |
The easiest trade you'll face with any of the characters that made our list of strongest hunters in Solo Leveling: Arise, Nam Chae-Young is an excellent addition to the team no matter who you bring. She is a ranged Aqua user who can safely stay away from the action to protect herself.
Solo Leveling: Watching Order
Solo Leveling is a hit among recent anime series. If you need a guide to ordering a watch, you've come to the right place.
She's also considered one of the more beginner-friendly teammates due to her low investment cost for her high ranged damage return. If you need some ranged support and are not yet comfortable with ranged fighters on the field, consider Nam Chae-Young to start.
Lee Bora
|
Element |
Dark |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Magician |
|
Difficulty of recruitment |
Hard |
Once you get used to having ranged fighters on your team, especially ones whose magic power will be the focus of their fight, consider bringing Lee Bor to your team's next mission in Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive. Another difficult recruitment to pull off, Lee Bora has multiple roles on your team so he's worth the effort.
Not only is Lee Bora excellent with his DPS output as a dark mage, but you'll find that he also has strong support moves. Before long, however, work to improve both of these stats and keep Lee Bora viable with your team in the end game of Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive.
Cha Hae-In
|
Element |
Light |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Fighter |
|
Difficulty of recruitment |
Normal |
If you're a fan of stacking critical hit damage (and increasing the rate at which you land critical hits in combat), you'll definitely want to invest in Cha Hae-In before it's too long. Unlike most of the other Hunters on our list, she's only on Normal difficulty, so she's much easier to convince.
Once she's in your battle formations, you'll find that Cha Hae-In helps in a number of ways, including never letting your enemies get a chance to heal if they're about to. With this ability, you'll find it useful during dungeon crawls and boss battles where you also need to defend yourself.
Alicia Blanche
|
Element |
Aqua |
|---|---|
|
Role |
Magician |
|
Difficulty of recruitment |
Hard |
You'll be hard-pressed to find an Aqua user with better damage output on sheer numbers than Alicia Blanche. While she is a staple of any Aqua team, she is strong enough to stand alone in mixed teams as well.
As a mage, you'll need to be a bit more aware of where she stands on the field than other characters who move around more and engage in melee more, but if you know how to keep her safe (her HP is relatively low to begin with and will require upgrades over time), she's definitely worth recruiting.
