Akatsuki consisted of several very powerful ninjas in Naruto. They were all considered to be S-category mercenaries who came from different parts of the world. The Akatsuki were strong enough to fight even the likes of the Kage and on select occasions defeated the Tailed Beasts in combat.
8 Strong Characters That Overpowered Naruto Ranked
The following characters were able to at least temporarily overpower Naruto!
Their ranks consisted of monsters like Nagato and even Itachi Uchiha. While strong, Akatsuki pales in comparison to some absolutely monstrous creatures that appear later in the story. Actually some Naruto the characters are so strong that they can solo all of Akatsuki without much trouble.
Hashirama Senju
Hashirama Senju was the first Hokage of Konoha and most certainly a monster in his own right. With the power of Wood Release and Sage Mode, Hashirama was so strong that he could compete with both Kurama and Madara Uchiha at the same time and win. Madara Uchiha himself was strong enough to fight the Five Kage at once despite holding back. Hashirama, surpassing him in power, could easily take over the entire Akatsuki all by himself. The fact that he has a massive chakra pool and almost infinite healing without any hand marks works wonders in his favor.
Minato Namikaze (KCM)
Minato Namikaze is the fourth Hokage of Konoha he can quite easily be one of the strongest characters of all. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, he reached a new level by becoming a Jinchuriki of half Yin Kurama. Minato, with Kurama's powers, was strong enough to fight and defeat anyone without 10 Tails level powers. He would deal with Akatsuki fairly easily.
Might Guy
the noble blue beast of Konoha, Might Guy was an absolute monster in terms of strength and one of the strongest when it comes to close combat. With the power of eight inner gates, Guy was strong enough to fight on par with Six Paths Madara. Anyone strong enough to do so can easily take Akatsuki apart. The fact that he one-shotted Kisame in the Seventh Gate is proof of that.
Madara Uchiha
When it comes to monsters that would absolutely tear Akatsuki apart, Madara is definitely one of the very best. Even without the powers of the six paths, Madara would be hard for Akatsuki to defeat. However, considering his Six Paths form, it is impossible for Akatsuki to even harm him, let alone defeat him. He would solo them all in no time.
Kakashi Hatake (DMS)
Kakashi Hatake momentarily reached a very high level of power when he inherited Obito Uchiha's Six Paths chakra and his twin Mangekyo Sharingan. With this power, he could fight evenly and even overpower Kaguya Otsutsuki, proving that he would single-handedly destroy the entire Akatsuki.

Sasuke Uchiha
At his peak, Sasuke Uchiha was strong enough to fight against the likes of Kaguya Otsutsuki. After the Ninja War, he overcame his own limits and gained even stronger powers. Sasuke is one of the strongest ninjas in the entire world and even Madara Uchiha can't beat him, Akatsuki wouldn't stand a chance.
Naruto Uzumaki
Like Sasuke, Naruto is one of the strongest ninjas in the entire world. WITH the power of Kurama, an almost infinite chakra pool, and the power of the Six Pathshe is almost invincible in combat. Even Sasuke couldn't beat him with the Tailed Beasts at his disposal. Akatsuki would be extremely easy for him to take down with his Six Paths Sage Mode.
Kaguya Otsutsuki
Kaguya is the strongest character in the Naruto series and someone who surpasses even Madara, Naruto and Sasuke in comparison. Her powers were absolutely immense. She could enslave the entire world and even destroy an entire dimension if she wanted to. The Akatsuki would be like bugs to her to crush and there is absolutely no competition between them in battle.
