Naruto: 8 Characters Who Came to Respect Naruto

Although these characters initially disliked the young ninja, they grew to respect Naruto over the course of the story.

When it comes to pure power, Naruto's forms all have their uses and strengths, though a few of the late anime arrivals are clearly more effective than others. However, in terms of how amazing they look, it's really a game of any form, and they're all memorable in their own right. So let's go through Naruto's many transformations to see which one just looks the best.

Octopus (Gyuki)

A brief look at the terrifying potential of Kurama's power

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Shippūden Episode 167
  • Other users: Blue B, Killer B, Obito Uchiha

This form would only appear very briefly during Naruto's final showdown with Pain, but it's fair to say that with the limited amount of screen time he gets, he sure makes a heck of an impression. The form itself is hidden in a ball of rubble, only the eight tails and the bizarre mutant creature in the middle are revealed.

It's a haunting design that manages to be memorable without going overboard, effortlessly revealing just how insanely powerful Kurama can really be when she shows off her true potential. While it would have been nice to see a bit more of this form from Naruto and be able to see the form in its entirety, it still stands out as an effective image from Naruto's journey.

Jinchuriki base form

Naruto would look truly menacing with his bloodshot eyes and deadly growl

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Episode 133
  • Other users: Sora, Utakata, Menma Uzumaki, Himawari Uzumaki

Before Naruto was able to control the immense power that Kurama possessed, the beast's inexhaustible chakra reserves bubbled to the surface, encasing Naruto in a red cloak where his body would mimic that of a fox in more ways than one. Not only would he be on all fours, but Naruto's face would also undergo some drastic changes, his eyes turning bright red and a menacing snarl spreading across his face. This would be the appearance he would take on while unleashing up to three tails of Kurama's power.

The strongest characters in Naruto Sasuke Isshiki

Naruto: 32 strongest characters in the series

These Naruto characters are the strongest individuals in the series.

All of this results in a truly intimidating sight for the protagonist who always strikes fear in the eyes of anyone standing on his other side. It would also serve as a subtle precursor to the glowing designs of Naruto's later Fox forms, which he would unleash after he became more powerful in the story.

7

Four-Tails (Son Goku)

Naruto is consumed by chakra and darkness in this terrifying form

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Shippūden Episode 247
  • Other users: Roshi

It's clear that when creating this form for Naruto, author Masashi Kishimoto really wanted to emphasize the absurd amount of power that lies within the Jinchuriki as a result of the nine-tailed fox. This is crystal clear when looking at the Four Tails, a form that envelops Naruto's entire body in fiery chakra while his face is completely covered by a black mask, creating a very terrifying image.

While he wouldn't use this mode much throughout the series, Son Goku's design is memorable for how strange and creative it is. Kishimoto seemed to be trying to blend his Tailed Fox designs with Naruto over time, and this felt like a nice middle ground between the base form and the later ones, which would be much more grandiose in their renditions.

6

Sage mode

An unusually stoic and wise look that represents Naruto's maturity after losing his master

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Shippūden Episode 131
  • Other users: Jiraiya, Hashirama Senju, Minato Namikaze, Koji Kashin

One of the worst and most iconic moments in the entire series Naruto the story is when a man falls alone into a ruined Konoha to face a dangerous Akatsuki member known as Pain. However, thanks to his training at Mount Moyoboku, Naruto emerges in his brand new Sage Form, which gives him new abilities along with a new appearance.

The most noticeable aspect of this iconic design is the red sage cloak that Naruto dons, but the fact that he's still wearing his orange jumpsuit is a nice way to remind fans that he's still the same knuckle-headed ninja underneath the professional attire. The addition of the large scroll attached to Naruto's back along with the paint covering his eyes clearly represent the maturity that Naruto would gain after the tragic loss of his master.

5

Nine Tail Chakra Mode

Naruto's epic glowing form represents his chakra mastery and expertise

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Shippūden Episode 247
  • Other users: Minato Namikaze, Menma Namikaze

After uniting with Kurama, Naruto is finally able to use his chakra reserve, culminating in this form that he would display for most of the final war. Simply put, this form is a marvel to behold and features a design full of small details to look out for, such as the mystical sage symbols covering Naruto's body or the illustration of the body's chakra system. Later in the series, he even dons a long flowing cape, just in case he doesn't look cool enough in this form anymore.

naruto characters ages height bdays, naruto sasuke kakashi

Naruto: Each main character's age, height and birthday

Naruto's main characters are among the most iconic in anime, so let's go through their birthdays, heights and ages.

All of this combined to create a truly incredible design that perfectly conveys the immense elemental power that Naruto truly wields. It would also be the first time Naruto was able to enter Jinchuriki form voluntarily without being dragged along for the ride by an irritated Kurama. It is therefore symbolic of his newfound bond with the animal within, so it makes sense that it would be so bright and alive. While Kishimoto built on this design to make it even more stylish in the future, it was a breathtaking template for him to work from.

4

Baryonic mode

As Naruto aged, he took on a new form that featured a bright and eye-catching design

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 217
  • Other users: No

For Naruto to even consider pulling out Baryon Mode, he has to be pushed to his absolute limit as it's pretty much meant to be a last resort of sorts. That's why it appears only briefly Boruto anime, but it's fair to say that it's a very creative new look for the Hokage of Konoha.

While the glowing red tails add a lot of flair to the design, what's particularly noticeable are the scars covering Naruto's face, making him resemble the Nine-Tails while retaining his signature look. While it can definitely be a little overwhelming with how much is going on at once, there's no denying that it's still a stunning form to watch, leaving fans hopeful that it will reappear, potentially in Blue vortex at some point.

3

Six-Tails (Saiken)

Naruto dons a skeletal suit to match his demonic fox form

  • Episode where Naruto used the form for the first time: Naruto Shippūden 31st episode
  • Other users: Utakata

Although there are only a few minor differences between the Four Tails and Six Tails forms, the addition of the creepy bone suit along with the overall increase in size still makes them a real feast for the eyes. With six bright red tails fluttering behind him and a crest of rattling bones around his back, Naruto looks like some sort of demonic beast in this form, underscoring the immense power the Nine-Tails generates within him.

This is a very effective look for Naruto that barely bears any resemblance to the ninja himself, which is one of the many reasons why he is so shocking and memorable. No longtime fan will ever be able to forget the first time Naruto unleashed this mode against Pain as one of his many transformations during this intense fight.

2

Tailed Beast mode

Naruto and Kurama form to create a stunning God-like form

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Shippūden Episode 247
  • Other users (not the same form): Gaara, Han, Killer B, Menma Namikaze, Minato Namikaze, Blue B, Obito Uchiha, Roshi, Utakata etc…

While it certainly wasn't easy for Naruto to bond with his inner beast, Kurama, through many hardships and hard battles, the two eventually grew to respect each other. Once Kurama began lending Naruto his power, he was eventually able to fuse with the Fox to awaken the beast itself, resulting in this mesmerizing appearance.

While Kurama's fearsome face can be seen above, he takes on a human body, allowing him to fight at full strength by utilizing Naruto's fighting experience. It's a representation of what Naruto and his beast can really achieve when they put their differences aside, and is one of the best designs in the series thanks to its stunning presence, neat details and underlying themes.

1

Six Paths Sage mode

An effortlessly cool shape that exudes power, presence and style

  • The episode where Naruto gets his form: Naruto Shippūden Episode 421
  • Other users: No one

The Sage of the Six Paths mod is basically an improved version of the original Sage form, not only in terms of power, but also in terms of design. While Naruto retains his chakra cloak thanks to Kurama, he now has a large glowing cape that contrasts with a black shirt that contains faint markings of the symbols from his first Kurama form.

There was obviously a lot of attention to detail with this form, such as Naruto's whiskers turning into giant black check marks and his cloak fitting better as he ages. This is Naruto's ultimate form in both strength and appearance, making the Hokage look extremely powerful but also downright badass. It manages to be absolutely stunning to look at without going too overboard, which is a testament to how much of a visual spectacle it is.
