ARC Raiders is a great game, full of lots of items to loot. But players should let their guard down because there are many ways to Topside, and none of them are fun to watch. From absolute failures to carelessness, players are constantly tripping up a number of common mistakes that can ruin even the most successful runs.
Welcome to the ten most brutal mistakes players make in ARC Raiders: Even experienced players are not exempt from slipping up once or twice. But as they say: A horse that stumbles twice with the same stone is not a good partner. Try not to succumb to these failures and learn from the mistakes of other players to become the best raider in Topside.
ARC Raiders: Top Tips and Tricks
Master ARC Raiders with these essential tips and tricks for a smoother game.
Forget that the game is a third-person shooter
Rotating the camera can reveal enemies hiding behind walls
As unfair as it may sound, third-person shooters are not exempt from certain exploits, and experienced gamers know that rotating the camera angle in an extraction shooter, allows a 360º viewing angle is the same as the ability to see behind walls.
When enemy players are lurking in certain confined spaces, players can peek to what is hidden on the other side of the door rotate the camera angle. The same can be said for the player on the other side, so be careful.
Headshots count as double damage
As every ARC enemy has a weak point, so do the raiders
This is one of the unwritten rules ARC Raiders: All enemies have a weakness that can be exploited to deal serious damage, sometimes even one-shots. Now, what no one tells players, and it's something most players ignore, is that a headshot will apparently deal serious damage to enemy raiders.
People tend to forget this and wonder why they were taken off when they were behind ground cover. The clue to this is their head sticking out from behind the rock. As hilarious as it sounds, this common bug will cost players a lot of runs to get used to.
The best ARC Raiders skill tree isn't entirely clear
ARC Raiders offers players three separate branches of the skill tree to invest levels in, but one of them is much better than the others.
Placing mines and forgetting where they are
Tsk, Tsk. A silly mistake, but a common one, nonetheless
While you enjoy ARC RaidersStella Montis' ruthless PvP map, one thing is clear from the moment players step onto it: It's the best place to lay traps and wait for other players to step on them. And talk about traps: Tripwires, minesand also Noisemakers don't have friendly fire choice.
That means if players forget where they placed the trapchances are they could fall victim to their own dirty tricks. For example, if players need to evacuate quickly because something nasty is going on (they've been spotted by the Shredder or several enemy players have teamed up against them), they need to be sure there's a clear path of retreat behind them.
Forget the grenades bouncing across the surface
We've seen more than one player die because of this. Terrible mistake
Grenades bounce; there is no way to deny it. Whether it hits the wrong angle of a roaming hornet (and doesn't explode on contact), or the edge of a hitbox in a small gap in the walls, or simply bounces off a closing door: go back to the sender and blow up in their faces.
Players must be extremely careful with contact grenades such as the Light Impact Grenade or Blaze Grenade, as they explode upon minimal contact with any surface. And on any surface, that is: Other raiders (even those on the same team), a piece of junk above the place the players chose as cover, or the remnants of a camera/Sentinel still hanging from the ceiling. This is key for those looking to go the Michael Bay route: don't underestimate hitboxesand finally dies stupidly.
Not locking the door when you walk by
It's like leaving a breadcrumb trail for enemy players
The doors have a lock on each sideand for a very good reason: open the door, close it behind you. This is a simple rule that will keep raiders alive longer: Close the door when you pass.
It's simple and it may sound silly, but imagine walking around leaving a smoke trail for whoever is in the area, looting or hunting other players. So close the door, try to be as secret as possible to avoid unwanted PvP encounters. If possible, use a blocking the door to make it harder for enemies to follow.
Do not use noise sources when raiding high-risk POIs
They are in the game for a reason
Noise Makers they are an important tool for avoiding surprise and reacting in time in situations where players don't want to lose all their precious loot. There are places that can only be reached with rare and rare keys and cards, and these usually only have one entrance (but also several emergency exits).
Placing the Noisemaker close to the door ensures they can hear when someone is coming. However, players keep forgetting and getting these useful tools caught looting a high risk point of interestand are killed by tons of loot on their backpacks. AND good way to ruin a perfect run.
ARC Raiders PSA: New players, stop saving these items
Do not salvage any of these items in ARC Raiders; you will need it later.
He doesn't carry enough medicine
Don't do it, it's the same as asking to be killed
Medicinal items such as Bandages or Shield Chargers are from an extreme necessity in Topsideand the second rarest item type. Players forget to carry enough bandages or chargers at all times, and that's a stupid mistake.
Worse, most of the time these players queue for Matchmaking and end up dragging down the entire team because they never have enough healing items and don't seem to care. crafting more with the In-Round Crafting Skill. Learn from these stupid mistakes, don't be that guy.
Forgetting the lack of ammunition on the surface
It's just as important as carrying healing items
The rule for one run is to have at least two full ammo slots per weapon. It's a simple rule to keep players alive, however some players are stubbornly fixated on the idea of not carrying Speranza ammo on Topside.
It is brutal mistakebecause ammo is cheap to make. The problem is: It cannot be created on top. So instead of crawling around and desperately looking for raider boxes and ammo boxes it's the best idea to have enough ammo to survive at least the first ten minutes.
Ignoring ARC Armor Penetration of Bullets
Yes, you can kill a jumper with a stapler, but it will take an awfully long time
Another brutal mistake that even experienced players make in ARC Raiders is underestimating the plated armor of ARC Enemies. From the little ones Wasp drone, to massive matriarch, each PvE enemy has its own armor level.
Medium and heavy projectiles have reasonable penetration, as do their respective weapons. Although not all weapons will put as much force into projectiles as needed to overcome ARC Armor. So: Do not attempt to remove the Leaper with a stapleror Matriarch using a Hairpin. It's stupid and it will be resulting in a miserably unsuccessful run.
Blindly trusting other Raiders in solo runs
The time to be nice is over
Don't trust anyone (except those from the friends list). No raider has to drop their guards on the Topside, and that's also a golden rule the most common brutal error players commit all the time.
To trust the random raider who says “Don't shoot” and “Unify?” it's like asking to be shot in the back. True, there are times when the rules of cordiality apply and players accept working side by side, but 3 out of 5 times this will result in them betraying someone at the worst possible time. Never let your guard down around other players, especially not in solo runs.
