Less than two weeks ago, Sucker Punch dropped the 1,000 game update that introduced, among other things Ghost of YoteiA new Game Plus mode that allows players to continue their adventures with Atsu at a higher level even after her story has ended. Although this update greatly expanded Ghost of Yotei It came with a few annoying bugs, so a follow-up patch has now been added to the game that fixes four gameplay issues, including those noted with New Game Plus. A few of these notes are general and simply state that the development team fixed some post-launch issues the game was having with the new Plus game vendor and some unusual soft-locking issues.
Other notes are more specific. One strange bug that appeared in the New Game Plus mode was related Ghost of Yotei'with Bamboo Strike Locations. There are 15 such locations scattered throughout the game world, where players can play a mini-game that requires them to memorize and repeat a series of button presses, resulting in Atsu's success boosting his overall spirit. After the release of update 1.000, players noticed that the counter was strangely showing negative numbers in these places, but this issue has reportedly been fixed with the release of the latest update.
An even more serious issue is an issue that prevented some players from collecting Platinum Armor Dye after earning the Platinum Trophy in Ghost of Yotei, potentially blocking them from the desired cosmetic item. The team noted that this issue was rare and only seemed to affect players who obtained the trophy in multiple save files, but it has also been fixed. Aside from the gameplay issues, the new patch notes also mention that the latest update has fixed some general crash issues that players have been experiencing infrequently.
As Sucker Punch deals with the early growing pains of adding New Game Plus, more content is on the horizon planned for the game. A co-op Legends mode is planned Ghost of Yotei in 2026, as confirmed in a trailer for the game more than a month before its release. While the release date for the Legends mode is not yet set, it is planned to arrive as a free DLC add-on and will likely mirror the similarly named game mode that was introduced in.
