Embark has finally provided specific numbers for the various bonuses players will receive for sending their Raider on an expedition ARC Raidersand while I'm glad I now have a better idea of what I'll be getting, the news wasn't all good. In a recent blog post that was shared on the official website ARC Raiders X, the developer has announced that the first expedition of the game will be delayed by a few days. This part was already hard enough for me to hear because I was waiting for the wipe to arrive so I could see what it was like to start a new Raider with the buffs and bonuses I get for participating in the Expedition. However, when I read what my stash should be worth in order to get the maximum number of bonus skill points for my next character, I felt a little demoralized.
When players send their raider on an expedition ARC Raidersthe total value of the items in their stash, plus the Coins they have in their wallet, determines how many bonus skill points they can get for their next character – up to 5. Well, until now that value has been a mystery, and I almost wish it had stayed that way until the Expedition, because, as they say, ignorance is bliss. When I read that my net worth in ARC Raiders i would need 5,000,000 coins if i wanted the max bonus skill points, for a while i thought i would just go back to the game and be done with it. But now I'm wondering if it's even worth it.
Every bonus offered by ARC Raiders' Expedition Wipe
The Expedition itself is already something some players have considered not worth the effort, simply because of the sheer amount of resources it requires. For some shipping benefits to ARC Raiders they don't outweigh the effort, and it seems that this may be especially true of bonus skill points. Even so, there are clear bonuses that should appeal to players who plan to stick with the game for the long term.
Here are the official permanent bonuses that players will receive after completing their first expedition ARC Raiders:
Permanent Unlock:
-
Patchwork Raider outfit
-
Torn janitor's cap
-
Shipping indicator icon
-
Skill Points (depending on Stash value)
-
+12 Storage space
Temporary Enthusiasts:
-
10% repair enthusiast
-
5% xp increase
-
6% more materials from Scrappy
Of course, permanent unlocks will be applied to each player's account forever. On the other hand, temporary buffs expire if players choose not to go with the next expedition. However, if they leave with an expedition after this one, those buffs will seemingly add up to the next three expeditions and will likely be capped until the players choose not to leave. Like I said, I'm glad all this information is now publicly available, but I think I could do without the specifics about the bonus skill points. I'm just sorry.
Here's a breakdown of what players will need if they want all five bonus expedition points in ARC Raiders
According to the blog post, each bonus skill point offered ARC Raiders An expedition costs 1,000,000 coins and whether that amount comes from your stash or your wallet is up to you and what you have. 1,000,000 coins already seems like a steep price, but at the same time it seems almost doable. Some of the more dedicated players are probably swimming in cash right now, so this might just be pocket change for them. However, when you look at how much work and time it takes to get 1,000,000 coin worth, let alone 5,000,000, I don't feel like you can walk away from it without considering the cost.
There are a lot of valuable things there ARC Raidersbut even the most valuable items don't come close to the total damage of 5,000,000 coins needed for the maximum number of bonus skill points from the expedition. Considering the current stash as well as the number of rounds you would have to play to reach such a huge net worth, the ratio of item value to the value needed to get the bonus skill points from the expedition is daunting to say the least.
Here are the most valuable items ARC Raiders:
-
Carbine – 14,000
-
Queen Reactor — 13,000
-
Matriarch Reactor — 13,000
-
Lance's Mixtape (5th Edition) — 10,000
-
Kinetic Converter — 7000
-
Anvil Splitter — 7,000
-
Stunning Snow Globe — 7,000
-
Horizontal grip — 7000
-
Silencer III — 7,000
Although the only item the players were after was ARC RaidersThe most valuable item, the Snap Hook, to get the 5,000,000 needed for all 5 bonus skill points, they would need a whopping 357 to get there. But getting to one of them doesn't happen every day or every week. So let's say players try to start a collection of breathtaking snow globes to cover the costs. Although there is a chance you can find them by looting residential areas ARC Raidersit's not just rare loot, but you'd need 714 for a total of 5,000,000. Just seeing those numbers jump out at me on the calculator makes me think that I signed up a while ago to try and raise some money before the first expedition leaves on December 22nd.
The ARC Raiders bonus expedition skill points may not be worth it (yet).
If it's not clear now, I believe I will say it ARC RaidersExpedition skill bonus points are not worth it. I might go for one of those, but trying to increase my stash to the next 2,000,000 milestone sounds exhausting. However, I'm going to go ahead and add “for now” to the end of this opinion that the bonus points aren't worth it because I can't imagine Embark sticking with it for too long. It just seems like such a high price for something so tiny, especially when storage space is as limited as it is and the most valuable items aren't even that valuable in comparison.
It's also worth noting that the 5% XP boost provided by Expedition should help mitigate the absence of these bonus skill points, though not by much. At the very least, it's encouraging to know that I'll get even more XP per turn with my next Raider, since it's pretty easy anyway. As long as I loot everything and destroy as many machines as I can find ARC RaidersI think I can do without the extra skill points.
