In addition, the trainer level cap was increased from level 50 to level 80 in October, bringing more rewards to players. Pokemon GO's Winter Holiday Part 1 adds a new costumed Pokemon

Ahead of the event, Scopely detailed what players can expect. Specifically, the annual event runs from Thursday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. local time. During Winter Holiday Part 1, players can collect several new Pokémon in costumes. These debuts include festive versions of Sudowoodo, Charjabug, and Vikavolt, all sporting festive attire. In addition, wild encounters will include event-themed Pokemon like Swinub, Snorunt, and Spheal, and holiday-themed sudowoodo and Charjabug may also appear. As long as the player catches a Charjabug in Holiday Garb, the creature can evolve the creature into a Holiday Garb Vikavolt by using 100 Grubbin Candy when it is near a Magnetic Lure Module.
