As you progress through the main story of Where Winds Meet, you'll unlock a bunch of campaign bosses like Heartseeker and Dao Lord. In addition, there are also some optional campaign bosses that can be encountered during the Lost Chapter campaigns once you get to a specific area. If you've gone through an area with these campaigns, they'll appear in the Lost Chapter segment of your quest menu.

Ever-Normal Granary is one such campaign and you can encounter it in the southern part of Kaifeng once you enter the location through the main story. After uncovering this southern part of the map, you can easily find the Ever-Normal Granary on the right side when fully zoomed in.

When you approach the area, the campaign quest will automatically start and you can start it listening to mother and child talk to the soldier.

After some dialogue in this quest, you will enter a granary where first you will have to defeat a mini-boss named Li Shoujie. Once you realize that the soldiers in the granary are hostile, you'll have to find your way inside on your own. How to beat Zheng E

Where Winds Meet Zheng E begins the boss fight.

Once you get into the fight against Zheng E, you'll quickly realize that this fight has a unique mechanic that you don't often see in Where Winds Meet. Zheng E is one of the few bosses who can parry your attacksand it does so quite often, especially in the first phase.

This boss usually has a decent amount of downtime between attacks, but is very likely to parry your attacks in the process. Most of Zheng's attacks are also very fastand you have to learn timing if you want to avoid them effectively. Other than that, the boss has a normal two-stage battle, and here's what you can expect from each stage.

Phase one

Where Winds Meet Zheng E first stage boss attack.

The first stage of the Zheng E boss fight is relatively easy most attacks can be parried if you can time the block well. Two of the most common attacks in this stage are very similar, where he attacks with his fan and crafted swords at close range. One of these attacks has three instances, while the other has five.

The specialty of these two attacks is that after Zheng E is done with them, he will create a lot of ice veins from the ground and you can see where they will spawn by paying attention to changes in the country. You can parry these attacks to lower the enemy's Qi, but you can also simply dodge them.

If you do the latter, you can to buy some time to attack Zheng Ewhich will help you lower both his Qi and HP.

If Zheng E manages to parry your attack at this stage, it is very likely that he will come back and perform a ranged attack where he first throws two the ice ripples in your direction and then lunges forward. These three are easily deflected. Additionally, he can sometimes launch two horizontal ice waves on the field before launching them at you.

In our experience, they were a bit difficult to repel even with good timing it was easier to just go around or avoid them. The boss can also throw ice shards at you in this stage, which are also easily deflected.

Each time you get hit by Zheng E's attack, you gain progress on the immobilizer bar appears in the middle after the first hit.

If this bar fills up, your character will freeze in place for a few seconds and be vulnerable to all attacks.

Zheng E also has a red attack at this stage, but you can easily stop it with the Meridian Touch ability it can also be deviated in time for significant draining of enemy Qi. The best time to attack Zheng E in this phase is right after his attacks, especially the melee attack with five cases, because he will stay on the ground for a while after that.

Phase two

Where Winds Meet Zheng E phase change attack.

The second phase of this battle starts when you completely deplete the first HP bar, and you'll know when it starts because it always starts with a special attack. In this attack, the boss goes to a high platform with a bunch of ice veins and also covers the surrounding area. He will then launch two yellow attacks that you can't dodge, followed by a red attack. Parrying this attack will send it back to the boss and breaks his platform.

After you get through the phase change attack, you'll find that Zheng E uses a lot of new abilities, and a lot of them will be yellow attacks that you can't dodge. Sometimes he can lunge at you right after his hand glows yellow, and if he catches you during that lunge, slams you to the ground and does tons of damage.

A good rule of thumb for this stage is to prepare avoid most attacks if you are not sure it is not yellow.

Where Winds Meet Zheng E hand attack.

Zheng E will perform various yellow attacks where he flies and constantly throws ice waves at you. At the end of these attacks, it will also lunge at your current location, which is also a yellow attack. Avoiding the waves is strongly recommended so that you have stamina left for his final rush.

Lastly, this boss also does an ice vein platform like phase change attack during the second phase where he then throws a bunch of spears at you. You can easily avoid them by moving in one direction. Better not to rush here because you need stamina for his yellow attacks right after this.
