Final Fantasy 14 fans are obsessed with the weak goat that was accidentally added in patch 7.4

Final Fantasy 14 is quite an addictive game. I love it dearly, but sometimes it feels like it's held together by shoelaces, gum, and a few prayers. A lot of the game's problems lie in the “spaghetti code” as fans like to call it, and every now and then a bug so incredibly weird will sneak in and cause a few giggles here and there.

With the release of patch 7.4 earlier this week, we now have a new one to contend with, but instead of getting angry or calling the game broken and edgy, the bug has actually managed to amass a bit of a cult following.

As Reddit user Jado1stk2 explained in the post above, Patch 7.4 has a rather strange bug that causes a certain type of enemy to “wrong spawn” in Coerthas Western Highlands, which are back in Heavensward. These enemies look like your typical Steinbock that you would normally find in an area, but instead they are labeled “Lv 1” and that's pretty much it. It is officially referred to as a single dot in game party chat and logs.

G'rah Tia's voice in Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.4 sent Jonathan Bailey fans into meltdown

Is Jonathan Bailey just sick or has he been replaced?

This is a known issue that Square Enix is aware of and will probably fix at some point, but for now these weak goats are gathering quite a fan base and turning Coerthas Western Highlands into a bit of a tourist hotspot. Across social media, you can find gatherings of Final Fantasy 14 players sitting around the creatures and taking pictures with them, and if you happen to think of killing someone, you're bound to piss off quite a few people nearby. They even have fan art which is absolutely incredible.

There are some interesting theories as to why these adorable little goat deer actually appear. We know that the Beastmaster limited role is coming in patch 7.5, as revealed by Yoshi-P a while ago, so some people believe that it could be a test beast that accidentally slipped into patch 7.4 without being removed first.

Of course, we can't know for sure, at least not until we try the Beastmaster for ourselves. So for now these little guys will have to remain a wonderful mystery and will most likely be fixed in the next game update whenever that might drop, so go get a picture of one of these little wonders before they're gone forever.
