The Boruto the series takes place many years after the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War. Fans know very well that the main character from Boruto series is Boruto Uzumaki and that it now focuses on the next generation of ninjas. However, this certainly does not mean that the old generation of ninjas will not be central to the plot Boruto. This is especially true for Naruto and Sasuke.

Both Naruto and Sasuke lost their greatest powers in the Boruto series. Naruto Uzumaki lost the power of Kurama in the battle against Ishiki. Similarly, Sasuke Uchiha lost the power of his Rinnegan in the Boruto seriesand all he has left now is the Mangekyo Sharingan. Shortly after their fall from grace, both were on sick leave. Naruto was sealed by Kawaki while Sasuke was turned into a tree.
While both Naruto and Sasuke were shamed in Boruto, fans know very well that they will eventually return, and it seems that their next upgrades have already been lined up in the form of ninja science tools.
Sasuke already has a scientific tool ninja sword
Sasuke having a new sword was confirmed in Boruto Chapter 28where it was officially revealed that Sasuke's sword had now transformed into a scientific ninja tool that greatly enhanced his performance. The sword is stronger than ever and has great power that should take Sasuke's skill to the next level.
The blade material is still the same, just treated…and its shape changed for maximum strength and cutting ability. The guard is unchanged, but the rest has been almost completely replaced. That's not all, the blade is now set to automatically maintain your Uchiha Jutsu Hagoromo blade by itself once you grab the hilt and activate the Jutsu. Given that Sasuke received a scientific ninja tool, this is highly likely Naruto also gets his own version of the ninja science toolwhich will most likely come in the form of a prosthetic hand.
Naruto will probably get a new prosthetic arm
After the Momoshiki arc of Boruto, it was revealed to fans that Naruto was testing the new prosthetic arm which allowed him to absorb chakra. It was still a prototype at the time, but 3 years have passed since then and it is highly likely that it has now been significantly improved.
If Sasuke gets a science ninja tool sword after his return to Boruto, it makes sense Naruto gets a new arm. Together, Naruto and Sasuke get new ninja tools in Boruto, and it takes them to the next level.
Of course, ninja tools alone are not enough, and they will still need to acquire additional abilities. It is highly likely that Naruto Uzumaki will upgrade his Sage Mode or maybe even bond with other Tailed Beasts. Similarly, Sasuke has his Mangekyo Sharingan, and he might figure out a way to make it even better.
