Epic gaming grandmother has died at the age of 78

Scottish TikTok star Agnes 'Epic Gamer Grandma' has died aged 78 while “holding her daughter Pauline's hand”.

As TMZ reports, in the weeks leading up to Agnes' death, her grandson posted a series of health updates. In those posts, he explained that she stopped uploading new videos due to worsening chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a condition that impairs breathing, often leading to fatigue, weight loss and frequent lung infections.

“We had to call an ambulance today,” he said on October 16. “Grandma is in the hospital, she often goes for extra medical help, but this time she is seriously ill.

She became something none of us expected: Scotland's greatest elderly creator. People all over the world started calling her Epic Gamer Grandma, but to us she was still just nana.

A month later, in November, he posted a worrying update: “The reality we all face is that it looks increasingly likely that he won't be able to go home”.

“Calm down, Nano. You've finished the game for your life”

Unfortunately, it would be confirmed. “It is with incredible pain that I have to announce tonight that Agnes, our epic gaming grandmother, has passed away peacefully,” her grandson said last night. “She left this world as she lived in it: surrounded by love.

“We are absolutely heartbroken but also incredibly proud,” he continued. “Proud of the woman she was long before anyone knew her online. Proud of the mom and grandma who held her family together, and proud of how she spent her later years proving that life doesn't end at a certain age, it just changes shape.”

Babiš showed that the Internet does not belong only to young people. She showed that you can be seventy and still find new communities, new friendships, new ways to express yourself. She reminded people that our elders are not invisible, that they have stories, humor, opinions and so much love to share.

Epic Gamer Grandma leaves behind a legacy of more than two million followers, which her grandson likened to her “second family online,” showing immense gratitude to those who appreciated and welcomed her right to the very end.

“Thank you that she feels seen, valued and celebrated in a world that often forgets people her age,” the post concluded. “She meant more to us, to you, and to so many more than she ever realized. Rest in Peace, Grandma, Mom, Grandma. Epic wasn't just a nickname, it was a title. Epic Gamer Grandma forever.”
