Konami wants to release Silent Hill games every year

During a New Year interview conducted by Japanese media Famitsu, Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto stated that Konami is currently looking to release a Silent Hill game every year, a plan that began with the release of the game Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024. Follow-up release Silent Hill f in 2025 was the first to follow this yearly release schedule, and this seemingly inconspicuous comment could only confirm previous rumors of Silent Hill: Townfall issue date. A French fan site has reportedly leaked March 26, 2026 as a release date Silent Hill: Townfalland if Konami wants to stick to its annual schedule of launches, it would seemingly confirm that Townfall for 2026. Bloober's Silent Hill the remake is the only other officially announced project, so audiences can now expect the game to be released in 2027.

One of the key points of the note is Okamoto's mention that there are also “unannounced titles” in the mix, which may indicate that smaller games like A short message they can be released to fill any gaps while larger projects are being worked on. Okamoto admits that Konami isn't entirely sure whether it will be able to achieve this ambitious goal of releasing Silent Hill game every year, but the company wants to “keep the buzz going Silent Hill constant.” It's also worth noting that Konami works with multiple developers on each of its various projects, and this can help ensure that the annual releases stay on track. It seems Silent Hill fans will have plenty of new games to look forward to, although many are tired of Konami's plan to release a new title every year. Some players have already compared the decision to Ubisoft's 2009-2015 run Assassin's Creedwhich saw buggy launches and disastrous releases as Assassin's Creed: Unity. There is currently no way to know if Silent Hill the franchise will indeed follow the same path as AC with annual releases, or if smaller games could help meet timeline expectations while giving bigger games the time they need to avoid any disastrous debuts. Again, more studio partners could be a saving grace for Konami, though only time will tell if the plan to have a new Silent Hill game will even happen every year, let alone whether each release will be what fans are hoping for.
