This article contains spoilers from Naruto.
When it comes to the most popular anime series around the world, Naruto it will always be up there with the best. Naruto is one of the biggest anime series that played a significant role in making this form of media more mainstream. Along with One Piece and Bleach, it was part of the big three, and it can be said that in the West, Naruto had the most influence of the three until the moment of its end.
Shonen Jump finally has a replacement for Naruto and it's not Boruto
Naruto was legendary and his true replacement is here.
Even almost 9 years after it ended, Naruto is still talked about as it was when it aired. This anime series is absolutely great, loved by people of all ages, whether young or old. While it ended the Naruto series still has a lot of potential. The main story of Naruto ended almost a decade ago, but fans know that it continues with Boruto to this day.
Unfortunately, Boruto didn't have the desired impact and most fans consider it a failed sequel. Still, the world of naruto has a lot of potential and after about 9 years after its closure it's time for naruto to come back with a decent anime.
Naruto has been absent from the anime scene for far too long

Naruto Anime deserves a proper comeback

The new series could be set in an empty period
Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series ended in 2014 and the anime followed just a few years later in 2017.. Shortly after, the Boruto series started and as fans already know, it didn't have the desired effect, running for a few years before being put on hold by Studio Pierrot. Since then, the entire franchise has been absent from the anime scene, and that's quite a shame. Naruto has huge potential and is one of the most popular anime series in the world. In comparison, even Dragon Ball had its own return with Daima earlier in 2024.
You don't understand anything. Because you are no ordinary shinobi. You're even a bit different from the Jinchuriki, the ones who host the Bijuu inside of them. You are human, and yet, if anything, you are similar to me and Jura. — Kurama Himawari Uzumaki in Boruto
Naruto has too much potential to sit on the sidelines and not giving fans new content. It is incredibly profitable for Shueisha as well as for Studio Pierrot. At the same time, fans know that this is a brilliant story that still has a lot of potential, given the huge world that Kishimoto has set up.
Naruto's return would be a win for both fans and those in charge of making anime. One thing fans want is for Naruto to get his new standalone anime series. While Boruto is great and will most likely return one day with a Two Blue Vortex adaptation, fans would rather get the new Naruto anime.
Naruto deserves a new anime to replace Boruto
While the Boruto series was certainly exciting in parts, the way it handled the old cast of Naruto is nothing short of shameful. Boruto failed as a sequel to Narutoalthough it does some things very well. The amount of disrespect the series showed both Naruto and Sasuke and the way it practically ignored 90% of Naruto's old cast just proves that he really doesn't deserve to be the true successor to Naruto.. Most Naruto fans acknowledge this while also appreciating the things he did with the new generation.
This is not a story about a boy who wants to become Hokage. That was my father's story. This is none other than my story! — Boruto Uzumaki, Boruto Chapter 1
Of course, as a standalone series, Boruto it would still be an exciting watch for any anime fan. But as a sequel to Naruto, there are many things it fails to accomplish, and that's why Naruto deserves a new standalone anime. When it comes to Naruto anime, there are two approaches that can be taken. The first is a new anime series that takes place after the events of Naruto Shippuden.
Say goodbye to Naruto Uzumaki and welcome the new strongest character in Boruto
Naruto Uzumaki is powerful, but now there is one stronger ninja in Boruto.
This would work quite easily since there is a huge time jump between the end of Shippuden and the beginning of Boruto.
With over 10 years in between, a new Naruto anime would easily fit in here. The second approach would be to remake the Naruto anime from scratch, which is also an exciting possibility.
A Naruto sequel would be the best case scenario
Naruto could be back with a brand new series
The best case scenario for any Naruto fan would be the series receiving a new anime with Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi as the main characters. This would mean that the series would go back to the end of Naruto Shippuden and continue from there. There is about ten years between the end of Shippuden and the beginning of Boruto, which is known as the blank period. Fans don't know what happened during this time period and how Naruto, Sasuke and everyone else grew up.
Even during this time, there were definitely powerful enemies for them, and that's something that could be explored in the new Boruto series. Kishimoto could also jump in and give Studio Pierrot some exciting new ideas, allowing them to create a phenomenal series with powerful enemies for Naruto and Sasuke that fans would enjoy. It could be very similar to Dragon Ball Super in some ways. As fans know, Dragon Ball continued its journey after the conclusion of the main manga, with Toriyama on the side. Super was definitely not as great as the original Dragon Ball, but it was still a lot of fun and remains an icon to this day. Naruto could do something similar with the new anime series if Kishimoto is willing to get involved again.
Naruto could also get an anime remake as one piece
The second approach would be if Naruto gets an anime remake, similar to One Piece. At this point, the Naruto anime is very old. It started operating in 2003, which is 23 years at the moment. It's also loaded with filler, with roughly half the series being filler, which is sure to be an annoyance for the fan. There are also episodes with bad animation and the sound design is obviously outdated.
A new Naruto anime remake would be absolutely brilliant and fans know it was teased for the 20th anniversarywhere a clip showcasing the newer animation style for Naruto was revealed. One Piece, a rival series to Naruto, is getting its own anime remake from WIT Studioat some unknown point. Work on it continues and if One Piece gets this kind of treatment, then fans surely know that Naruto deserves it too. A new Naruto anime would reignite all interest in the franchise and take it to a new level. Fans know very well that they deserve the best version of Naruto, and while the old one still has its charm, it would be fun to see a new approach to this story from the younger staff of the anime, which fans are sure to enjoy.
