IN Arc Raiderthere are plenty of materials you'll need to scavenge to use in crafting weapons, upgrading your workstations, and donating them to your expedition. This is where things shake up a bit, as several materials you've never used before will now be needed to progress through the Expedition steps.
One of them is the Cooling Coil, which can be a bit of a challenge to find despite the prevalence of places where it can spawn. Here's what you need to know and where to look to find the four cooling coils you'll need.
Where to find cooling coils
When it comes to finding cooling coils, you'll want to refine your search in industrial-type areas. These are marked on your map with a building icon above the POI name. However, not all industrial areas are created equal, so you'll want to focus on looting the following areas:
- Rocket assembly at the spaceport
- Hydroponic dome complex and water treatment management at dam battlefields
- Warehouse complex at the Blue Gate
From these locations, i.eThe Hydroponic Dome Complex is surprisingly the best place to consistently search for cooling coils. Specifically, you'll want to look into larger arched structures like these red boxes that you can loot. These cabinets seem to have the highest chance of spawning Cooling Coils if you are in an industrial area.
Alternatively, breakable metal cases also provided cooling coils. However, this is a bit more inconsistent than lockers.
Stick to Dam Battlegrounds, Water treatment management is another good place to look for this item – especially if you have a dam tracking key. This is because the locked room has a series of lockers along the left side of that room that often contain at least one cooling coil. You can also find a nice combination of tool boxes, metal boxes and shelves in this placemaking it a solid second option if a hydroponic dome complex is already selected.
As for other maps, The rocket assembly at the spaceport is my second location in the hunt for cooling coils. This is mainly because this location has a collection of red lockers on both the first and second floors. These also often provide Cooling Coils along with Epic Tier materials, making them a good place to hit whenever you're on this map.
Finally, the Warehouse Complex in The Blue Gate map is a decent place to find Cooling Coils, but only if the row of lockers on the top floor hasn't been hit. That being said, I wouldn't use this as a dedicated place to find cooling coils, as my testing has been pretty inconsistent with them spawning.
Alas, the cooling coils cannot be bought, made or obtained by recycling other material. This means that if you want to get them for your expedition, you'll have to hunt for cooling coils the old-fashioned way.
