Spiritborn harnesses the power of four spirits, Jaguar, Eagle, Gorilla, and Centipede, each with their own unique attributes that can be used all together or combined to create powerful builds. Below we look at everything you need to know about the Spiritborn, including an overview of each of the spirits they can cast.
Spiritborn overview
A Spiritborn is defined by its access to four spirit animals: Jaguar, Eagle, Gorilla and Centipede. Each of his skills is represented by one of these spirits, and each skill within the Spirit class generally works well together. This makes planning your own build fairly simple, as you can usually pick the Spirit you want to use and then only use that Spirit's skills.
Of course, some Spirit skills are strong no matter what type of build you're using, so most often it's better to use skills from two or three Spirits at once, with most of your build centered around one Spirit.
Using Spiritborn Dexterity as their main stats and have access to them Polearms, Glaives and Quarterstaves for their weapons.
Hall of spirits
When you reach level 15 and complete the Spiritborn class quest, you gain access to Hall of spirits. You can choose one here primary Spirit passive which basically defines your play style. At level 30 you can choose a secondary passive.
The main passive also makes all skills of the selected Spirit type a Ghost, meaning that if you choose the Eagle main passive, every skill becomes an Eagle skill. This helps create extra synergy when a skill or legendary aspect requires the use of a specific spirit type.
Jaguar Spirit Overview
The Spiritborn Jaguar's abilities are centered around fast, multiple attacks which individually deal low damage, but become incredibly powerful when combined together. The core of Jaguar's arsenal is Ferocitywho increases attack speed by five per stack, stacking up to four times.
Ferocity is gained primarily through Rake, the Core Jaguar skill, but also through the third hit of the Basic Attack, Thrash. However, when combined with Unique Quarterstaff Sepazontecwhich only triggers Thrash's third hit, you'll be able to easily maintain Ferocity.
Stacking Ferocity will also provide additional bonuses such as increasing your Life on Kill, overall damage or reducing the cooldowns of certain skills.
Eagle Spirit Overview
The eagle spirit is the most mobile of spirits. His main passive changes your dodge and gives him an ability shoot Storm Feathers while dodging which applies Vulnerable and cause high damage. Vulnerability is another key aspect of Eagle builds, as most Eagle skills rely on or apply it.
With the full version of the Eagle, you'll be able to move at breakneck speed, dodge attacks and throw feathers, and apply Vulnerability to every enemy in sight. This is one of the the strongest and fastest Spiritborn build optionsand it's great for leveling because it doesn't require many legendary aspects or unique items to shine.
Gorilla Spirit Overview
Gorilla spirit is about everything Thorns, damage reductionand a unique buff Determination. Resolve is a stacking buff that provides a 20 percent damage reduction on the next attack you takewhich also removes the stack. There are many different ways to get Resolve, and most Gorilla skills revolve around having it or spending it in some way.
Thorns it's also a big part of what makes Gorilla Spirit unique. Basic gorilla skill, Rock Splitterdeals your Thorns damage in an area on the third hit. When combined with Sepazontecyou will always hit the third hit in a combo and repeatedly bombard the area around you with Thorns damage.
Gorilla buildings have some of the best survivability and Armored hideout Defense skill is a great choice no matter what spirit type you use.
Overview of Centipede Spirit
Centipede is one of the most straightforward spirits, but its use is one of the most satisfying. Picking up all of Centipede's skills and passives is perfectly viable for this build, so it's very easy to set up and see quick results. As you can imagine, Centipede is about everything poison damage and weakening enemies.
Most of Centipede's skills apply poison in some way, along with a few other debuffs like slowdown or damage reduction given away. Centipede Spirit also offers several ways heal by draining life from poisoned enemies.
On its own, poison damage is pretty strong, but when used with it, it really shines Harmful resonance Key Passive which deals an explosion of poison damage when you hit a hit enemy with a critical strike. With how much poison you are able to apply quickly, this allows you to take down enemies with high health by building up a critical strike chance.
