With the Dragon Ball Genkidama Matsuri taking place on January 25, 2026, it will be a big comeback year for Dragon Ball. Between the rumored anime and manga, hopefully ending the hiatus, Dragon Ball SuperThe long-awaited return has never seemed more realistic. The Dragon Ball Super the manga went on hiatus after epilogue k Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero where Goku and Gohan finally got to play in their new forms and showed how powerful both of them had become since the beginning of the series.
Dragon Ball: 6 Anime Moments That Were Better In The Manga
Akira Toriyama understood his characters better than anyone, and the paneling and storytelling of the Dragon Ball manga is honestly on another level.
More importantly, Black Frieza is still at large after his sudden appearance (and disappearance) at the end of the Granolah saga. When Dragon Ball Super returns, it will finally be time for the series' protagonists to take down the most powerful character in the universe in the Black Frieza Saga. Dragon Ball SuperThe main characters are stronger than ever and each has a unique transformation that will likely be the key to stopping Black Frieza once and for all.

Orange Piccolo is finally on par with Goku & Vegeta after Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero
One of Akira Toriyama's main goals in writing Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was to make Piccolo strong enough to rival Goku and Vegeta again. Despite being Akira Toriyama's favorite character, Piccolo lost his powers in the process Dragon Ball Z's Cell Saga and was never again able to catch up with the Saiyans due to their many transformations. This all changes when Shenron gives Piccolo a “bonus”. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
Orange Piccolo is the strongest Piccolo in decades. Although Orange Piccolo was not strong enough to defeat Cell Max himself, the fact that he was able to fight at all is an impressive feat. Although Piccolo is the weakest Dragon Ball SuperThe five main characters, Orange Piccolo, give him plenty of room to train further and become even stronger. As for Black Frieza, Piccolo isn't the obvious choice to defeat him, but with good reason given Frieza's genocide of the Namekian race in Dragon Ball Z.

Legendary Super Saiyan Broly will be unstoppable once he learns to control his full power
Making Broly canon was one of the best writing decisions Dragon Ball Super. What was once one of the Dragon Ball ZThe shallowest villain is now one of the Dragon Ball Superthe strongest and most impressive heroes. Broly's Power Level in DBS is out of control. IN Dragon Ball Super: BrolyBroly was strong enough to defeat Super Saiyan God Goku in his base form. At full power in his legendary Super Saiyan form, Broly was so powerful that Goku and Vegeta needed to defeat Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta to win.
Dragon Ball Z Shuts Down Major Super Saiyan 4 Goku Theory
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot just revealed new information about Super Saiyan 4 Goku, putting Dragon Ball DAIMA's main theory to rest.
From Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero epilogue, Broly is strong enough to keep up with Gohan Beast as a regular Super Saiyan. Once Broly learns to control his temper and transform into the legendary Super Saiyan whenever he feels like it, he may very well explode into the strongest unbridled character in Dragon Ball. Frieza personally killed Broly's father, so Broly has plenty of reason to power up and take down Black Frieza himself if it comes to it.

Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku gets stronger with each saga
Contrary to popular belief, Goku is rarely the strongest character Dragon Balland Dragon Ball Super there is no other. From Dragon Ball Super: Super HeroGoku lags behind both Vegeta and Gohan. Vegeta canonically beats Goku fair and square at the end Super hero (albeit in their base forms) while Gohan Beast was strong enough to knock Goku out of Ultra Instinct during their sparring session. This means it's only a matter of time before Goku catches up and surpasses the other Saiyans.
5 Dragon Ball Super Characters Stronger Than Ultra Instinct Goku
As of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Ultra Instinct Goku is weaker than his rival, his son, and even the other main villain of the series.
Each arch inward Dragon Ball Super develops Goku's ability to use Ultra Instinct even further. Goku can now transform into Mastered Ultra Instinct whenever he feels like it, while also being able to mix different Super Saiyan forms with Ultra Instinct as seen in the Granolah Saga. Goku also learned how to astral project his Ki while using the UI during the Moro Saga, so there's no telling what he'll be able to pull off after the Black Frieza Saga. Goku beat Frieza twice and even Dragon Ball Superthe main protagonist, he is the most likely character to end Frieza for good.

Ultra Ego Vegeta is stronger than Goku – for now
Vegeta eventually earned a fair win against Goku Dragon Ball Super: Super Heroand is on a personal hot streak at the moment. In terms of raw power, Ultra Ego is a stronger form than Ultra Instinct, and only gets stronger the deeper Vegeta gets into combat. The biggest downside to Ultra Ego is that Vegeta can accidentally exhaust himself, which is exactly what happens during his battle with Gas in the Granolah Saga.
Vegeta is no slouch, even without Ultra Ego. IN Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero epilogue, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta can handle Gohan Beast very well. While their fight isn't as long as Ultra Instinct Goku, the fact that Vegeta can keep up at all is impressive and speaks to Vegeta's current level of performance. Unlike Goku, Vegeta never got a chance to defeat or kill Frieza. Frieza personally ruined Vegeta's life and basically enslaved him as a boy, so he probably has the best reason of anyone to be the one to put Black Frieza into the ground.

Gohan Beast is the strongest main character in Dragon Ball Super
Ultimate Gohan was the strongest unfused character at the end Dragon Ball Zbut he lost that title fairly quickly early on Dragon Ball Super. With the introduction of God Ki, just as Gohan was procrastinating with his training, Gohan quickly fell behind and didn't recover until the Tournament of Power. IN Dragon Ball Super: Super HeroGohan finally unlocks a new form that puts him right back on top of the totem pole.
Gohan Beast was the only character strong enough to defeat Cell Max himself, and is so powerful that Whis even considers him a potential successor to Beerus as Universe 7's God of Destruction (although Beerus himself disagrees). Gohan fought Frieza back at Namek and was unable to stop him Resurrection Fso he has a good reason to redeem himself in the upcoming Black Frieza Saga. Currently, Gohan Beast is the absolute best chance the Z-Fighters have to defeat Black Frieza. No one but Gohan is strong enough to finish the job right now.
