Fable Leak Reveals Large Open World for Upcoming Reboot

Thanks to a new leak, rich concept art for Fable just found its way online. There are a total of 29 leaked images, with most of them being teasing Fablea large open world and several key locations within it.

The long-awaited revival of the fantasy action RPG series originally born from Lionhead Studios, Fable was first officially announced in July 2020, although rumors of its existence first surfaced two years earlier when Eurogamer reported that Forza Horizon developer Playground Games was tasked with reviving the franchise. The last time fans saw Playground's Fable it was during the 2024 Xbox Showcase that a 2025 release window was given, which would eventually be pushed back by Xbox Game Studios head Craig Duncan.

With Legacy of the Forge Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 content confirmed, it looks like I might be getting the Fable 2 sequel I've always wanted after all.

Leaked Fable concept reveals Bloodstone and more

In just two days (January 22), fans will be waiting Fable once again and officially confirmed for the Xbox Developer Direct. But before his “first extended look” Fable just suffered a major leak. A new report from MP1st showcases nearly 30 leaked pieces of concept art that are said to come from the portfolio of an artist who worked on Fable. While these leaked images show locations that fans have yet to see in full, MP1st states that it was unable to verify the illustrations' provenance dates, meaning they may not necessarily represent the final product. With that in mind, fans should take the following information with a grain of salt.

The great majority of them escaped Fable concept illustration revolves around a location believed to be called 'Bloodstone' if the in-universe signpost in one image is any indication. Based on these images, Bloodstone will likely be the main location Fablewhile it appears to be a large city, consisting of a mighty castle, a market-place, and a number of houses, which are built into the surrounding valley. In the long run Fable fans will already be familiar with the name Bloodstone, as it belongs to a pirate-infested port city Fairy tale 2 where players will meet the Reaver voiced by Stephen Fry. Although Playground has remained tight-lipped about plot and world details, it is believed Fable is a complete reboot of the series, which would mean that this version of Bloodstone won't be the one it's in Fairy tale 2though it could serve a similar purpose in the reboot story.

Another location that is featured in these ideas has been leaked Fable the concept illustration is “Hamlet”, a small cluster of wooden huts perched atop a grassy hill. MP1st believes that this place could be the protagonist's home village, and that FableThe antagonist could end up flooding the place. All three main lines Fable the games begin with a major disruption to the protagonist's home life, so the flood is new FableAn inciting incident or significant plot point later would make sense.

The last topic of the newly leaked Fable concept art is an underground dungeon. Shows several illustrations FableThe main character hides metal cages and various pieces of debris in a stone dungeon that is sparsely lit by torches and a few rays of sunlight filtering through the crumbling walls of an underground structure. One image also teases a werewolf fight in the same underground location. The next image also shows different concepts of treasure chest designs, with one using the original Fablechest as a reference.

Hopefully, fans won't have to wait long to see how much of this leaked concept gets made Fablefinal product. If leaked locations like Bloodstone and Hamlet are actually primary locations Fablethen it will probably appear in the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct.
