The sixth season Pokemon Legends: ZA Ranked Battles will begin at the end of January and last through most of February, giving Pokemon Trainers time to get the exclusive Swampertite Mega Stone. Additionally, by climbing to the S position Pokemon Legends: ZA In ranked battles, trainers will have another chance to get some Mega Stones that were available in previous seasons.
Less than four months from launch in October 2025 Pokemon Legends: ZA became one of the best-selling titles on the Switch 2 console. More than a million physical copies Pokemon Legends: ZA: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition were only sold in Japan and joined other bestsellers such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Banana. For comparison, the original Switch version Pokemon Legends: ZA over 1.5 million units have been sold in Japan since its launch. Therefore, Pokemon Legends: ZA was the second best-selling Nintendo title on both Nintendo consoles as of late December 2025, Mario Kart World.

As Pokemon Legends: ZA With Season 5 coming to a close at the end of January, trainers will soon have another season to prepare for. Season 6 Pokemon Legends: ZA Rated battles will begin on Thursday, January 29th at 1:00 AM ET and end on Wednesday, February 18th at 8:59 PM ET. Once Season 6 begins, all Trainers will have their ranking reset to Rank Z. At the time of writing, Trainers have less than a week to complete all Season 5 Ranked Battles they wish to perform. Pokemon Legends: ZA trainers who reach rank S during season 6 will get Swampertit after leveling up. Swampertite can then be used to Mega Evolve Swampert, gaining a boost in the physical attack state. Additionally, climbing the Y to U ranks will be a reward Pokemon Legends: ZA players with past Mega Stone rewards. Players will have another chance to earn Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, and Sceptilite mega stones, respectively, once they reach U rank during Season 6. Trainers must be online and updated Pokemon Legends: ZA on version 2.0.1 to participate in ranked battles.
However, the sixth season is not the only thing that is at stake in the January lottery Pokemon fans. January 21st Pokemon Legends: ZA released its Patch 2.0.1 content update, which brought some quality-of-life changes to the game. Pokemon Legends: ZA increased the Mega Shard cover from 999 to 9999, making it easier to manage items like Genesect Plates and specific Tech Machines (TMs). in addition Pokemon Legends: ZA trainers can now buy berries and feathers in bulk, making managing Pokémon's Effort Values (EV) easier than before. Given that Pokemon Legends: ZA Ranked battles can be competitive, Pokemon trainers looking to climb the ranks should check their team's EV accordingly. However, not every creature available in Pokemon Legends: ZA can participate in ranked battles in Season 6.

Although most Lumiose and Hyperspace Pokedex will be available for Pokemon Legends: ZA players to choose from in season 6 ranked battles, some of them Pokemon Legends: ZALegendary monsters will have some limitations. In short, prevent Pokemon Legends: ZA Unless players build their entire team of Legendary creatures, Trainers will be limited to carrying up to one Special Pokémon on their teams. The affected limited Pokemon, of which players can only choose one, include monsters like Zygarde, Mewtwo, and Kyogre. in addition Pokemon Legends ZA players will not be able to carry more than one Pokemon with the same Pokedex entry number, and all Pokemon will be automatically synced to level 50 during a ranked battle.
Despite the restrictions on Legendary Pokémon, some of the strongest Pokémon in Pokemon Legends: ZA can still be used in Tier 6 ranked battles, including Tyranitar, Metagross, and Dragonite. Bottom line, coaches will still have plenty of options to move up the ranks this coming season.
