Ghost of Yotei was a huge success in its first few months, but it seems PlayStation wants even more of you to take the Atsu journey in 2026. Select PS5 users have reportedly received an email giving them an exclusive discount on the Tsushima sequel, but without it you'll still have to pay full price.
Some of you may have targeted Ghost of Yotei discounts and not even know it
The emails offering the opportunity to buy Yotei cheaper were called “targeted discounts”. Spotted by Wario64, the email will get you Ghost of Yotei for less – it's not a voucher code that can be used on the game of your choice – and it's only ten percent cheaper. Still, any discount on a $70 game, especially one that's still new, is welcome.
The discount can also be used for the slightly more expensive digital deluxe edition if you wish.
There's no code to enter, so no transferring your savings to someone else if you don't want to use them yourself. Just click the “get offer” link in the email and it will take you directly to Yotei's PlayStation Store page, the price of which has changed to reflect the 10 percent targeted discount you received.
Ghost Of Yotei is the latest game to get its own line of premium SuperGroupies merchandise
Forget the price, I need Atsu's watch with the names of her enemies on it.
How exactly do you qualify for a targeted discount?
No one can seem to figure out how to get one of these discounts. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to who gets a targeted discount on Ghost of Yotei and who doesn't. Some have even reported receiving the email while already owning the game, so it's not even a case of PlayStation picking on people who don't have Yotei in their library.
While Yotei got off to a huge start — it was the third best-selling PS5 game of 2025 — it makes sense that PlayStation would still push to increase the size of its audience. While Marathon is coming in just over a month, the next big single-player experience won't come from the PlayStation studio until Insomniac hits us with Wolverine this fall.
Even though Yotei sold well because it's a story-based single player game, people who want it just picked it up and moved on. Now the hard work really begins for PlayStation as they have to try and get those who weren't excited enough to buy the Yotei at launch to grab it now. A discount will help, as will making the price cut offered feel exclusive to them, which it is to some extent.
