Two popular survival horror game franchises are coming from Japan, Silent Hill and Fatal framerevealed that a new collaboration is in the works. Silent Hill and Fatal frame were two of the most exciting survival horror series to come out of Japan in the early 2000s, so fans of the genre may be delighted to hear about this collaboration.
Although they come from different developers, Silent Hill and Fatal frame the franchises have shared some commonalities in recent years. Both Japanese survival horror series were extremely popular at one time and also entered a lull around the same time. Silent HillThe company's franchise largely died down after 2012 and Fatal frame doing the same after 2014. Although Fatal frame hasn't seen a brand new game released like its competitor Konami Silent Hill fis back in public through several remsaters and upcoming Crimson Butterfly remake.

Silent Hill and Fatal Frame collide
Now a new collaboration between Koei Tecmo's has been announced Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly remake and Konami Silent Hill flatest entry in Silent Hill series. An announcement has arrived from Koei Tecmo, revealing that the co-op costumes will be coming as downloadable content in the future. The developer account didn't reveal more, but if the collaboration is hosted across both games, it's likely that the protagonists will be wearing each other's outfits. Silent Hill fHinako gets Mio and Maya's clothes, while the sisters probably get her school uniform.
Fans who reacted to the news were mostly positive, with many happy to see some of their favorite Japanese horror games back in the spotlight. Some expressed curiosity Fatal picture 2's costumes, I wonder if any of the ones from the previous games will return. A number of bonus costumes have been announced Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterflyis a remake, but some of those that were available in previous versions of the game, such as the short yukatas or swimsuits added to the Xbox version, have not yet been revealed.

Aside from being two of the premier Japanese survival horror franchises to come out of the early 2000s, these particular two games share some similarities in theme that make this crossover all the better. While the original Silent Hill games followed a series of western protagonists, Silent Hill f takes players back to 1960s Japan while Fatal picture 2 takes place in the 1980s. In both games, young female protagonists struggle to fight their way through terrifying encounters inspired by Japanese folklore, with few tools to defend themselves. As the stories of the games continue, it becomes clear that not everything is as it seems at first, and the main characters are forced to make some difficult decisions.
No release date has been announced yet Silent Hill f x Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly DLC will arrive. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly is currently set to release on March 12, 2026. It is also unclear if the DLC will be available on all systems as Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly coming out on Nintendo Switch 2 but Silent Hill f not available on this platform. However, this could change in the future. The Silent Hill 2 the remake did not come to the Xbox Series consoles a year after its initial launch on the PlayStation, and although the developers did not explicitly reveal a version for the Nintendo Switch 2, it is not excluded that it will end up there either. If any of Silent Hill franchise is coming to Switch 2, may be announced during the upcoming Nintendo Direct scheduled for February.
