Fable fans share their favorite NPCs they've married

Last month, Xbox gave us a good look at the new Fable coming out this fall. It was a great dive into the game that revealed all the Fable mechanics we've come to expect from the series. You can become a landlord, kick chickens, and dress up, but the big deal has become that you can marry and marry any of the game's many, many NPCs.

Getting married, starting a family, and then forgetting about them and leaving them behind is an essential part of Fable, and it's such a common experience that almost everyone in the fanbase has their own favorite NPC that they like to bond with. With the recent deep dive into the new Fable game, fans are now reminiscing about their Fable escapades.

On the Fable subreddit earlier this week, a user named Eat_Ur_Veggies revealed that when they were kids, they used to marry the same Bowerstone NPC over and over again, seemingly moved by this one woman. It's pretty healthy, but it has prompted many to start sharing their favorite marriages while playing.

Fable officially leaves the original trilogy as the reboot tells its own story.

For example, a user named RuairiJHB simply says it's “Lady Gray or bust” for him, a choice I can totally respect. Even the OP claimed Lady Gray was their “teenage choice” to marry, while a user named NotSynthx says she's “so hot I can excuse her human rights violations.” I think some people can overcome anything if someone is hot enough.

Then you have more interesting marriage options, as a user named Elite8niner says that in Fable 2 they only married prostitutes, literally because they love the idea of a prostitute becoming queen. There are also a few deviants who admit to trying to go after all the women of the night they can, but I suppose it wouldn't be Fable without some deviance.

As an example, a user named JiggleTheBiggles (name check out) explains that they always married a barber in Bowerstone South in the original Fable, literally because of their two big assets. He then explains that they had to break into their house in the dead of night – after falling in love with them – in order to marry them, and that there is a love story you could only hear in a Fable game. Here's hoping the new game brings some crazy romances as well.
