With Season 1 of Solo Leveling airing in 2024, the series could compete for some big awards at The Crunchyroll Awards 2025. Despite being a relatively new series, Solo Leveling won.
At the 2025 Crunchyroll Awards Solo Leveling won the most prestigious title the series could receive, that of Anime of the Year. Solo Leveling won this title despite stiff competition from the likes of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 1, The Apothecary Diaries Season 1, and Dandadan Season 1, among many other hit anime, all of which deserve to win in their own right. While winning the Anime of the Year award was massive enough on its own, it didn't stop there.

As many fans may have heard by now, the 2026 Crunchyroll Awards are coming at a fast pace and all fans of the series are anxiously waiting to see which series will come out on top this time around. The 2026 Crunchyroll Awards are scheduled for May 23, 2026and this day could be massive for Solo Leveling. Of course, while the awards ceremony itself takes place in May, the nominees will be revealed much earlier, and voting will instead be open from April 2nd until April 15th. At this point, fans don't know what categories the series will be nominated for, but it's at least eligible. After its huge success last year, Solo Leveling is likely to be nominated by Crunchyroll in many categories, and of course that will include the Anime of the Year category.
That goes without saying Solo Leveling Season 2 is a serious contender to win Anime of the Year twice in a row.. If this were to happen, Solo Leveling would become the first anime to achieve such huge success and make history. The only other anime to win Anime of the Year twice was Jujutsu Kaisen, but even then it didn't achieve this back-to-back, something that Solo Leveling can actually do.

Of course, Solo Leveling can't win without fan support, so fans of the series will be sure to mark their calendars and vote for their favorite series when voting opens.
For Solo Leveling, a win would mean a lot as it could affect the fate of what comes next. Last year when Solo Leveling won a lot, the studio definitely took note and the producers could tell how popular Solo Leveling is overseas. Solo Leveling faces huge competition from My Hero Academia

Solo Leveling Season 2 has a huge chance to win many awards this year. But unlike 2025, its chances seem much slimmer for several reasons. Last year when the Crunchyroll Awards aired, Solo Leveling aired its second seasonwhich definitely led to a big recency bias, which led fans to vote for him and gave him a huge advantage. In comparison, its rivals such as Frieren: Beyond Journey's Endended airing over a year ago and weren't as fresh in fans' minds. In 2026 however Solo Leveling has no such advantage, its third season is nowhere near coming.
Along with that, the competition in 2026 may be much tougher. As fans know, one of the biggest shonen series of the past few years made a huge impact in 2025, which was the final season of My Hero Academia. MHA season 8 was a huge hit and featured some of the highest rated anime episodes of 2025, even more than Solo Leveling. My Hero Academia might steal Solo Leveling's title as Anime of the Year, but it could also do more than that.
Deku could win Best Lead Character of 2026and My Hero Academia could also take home the award for best event thanks to its incredible battles brought to life by Studio Bones. Izuku Midoriya vs Shigaraki was probably even bigger than the biggest Solo Leveling match of 2025 – Jinwoo vs Ant King.
My Hero Academia Season 8 being the final season of the franchise also definitely gives it a huge edge. Fans want to give the series a proper farewell and allowing it to win such big titles would be a great sign for a great anime series. After MHA Season 8, Solo Leveling is also facing tough competition from series like The Apothecary Diaries, Takopi's Original Sin and many more.
