Battlefield 6 releases patch notes for February 3rd update

EA released a new update for Battlefield 6which is constantly improving the online shooter while also bringing further improvements to a pair of cosmetic outfits. Largely due to strong word of mouth and well-received open beta tests during the summer of 2025 Battlefield 6 enjoyed a huge amount of early success. With a more grounded style of gameplay reminiscent of previously popular titles such as Battlefield 3many players felt that the franchise had returned in style.

After a huge start that helped Battlefield 6 became the best-selling shooter of 2025, things have seemingly taken a turn for the worse as the game has been plagued by numerous controversies and player frustrations. In fact, the player base has seemingly dropped to alarming levels like competing titles Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 starts to climb on it. However, EA and Battlefield Studios continue to improve the experience through updates and new content, hoping that spark can once again help the game approach launch-level numbers.

Battlefield 6 brings a major change that fixes issues with the BF Pro bonus path progression

Battlefield Studios releases new Battlefield 6 patch for recent progression issues resulting from BF Pro Bonus Path rewards.

Latest update for Battlefield 6 has arrived, and while it's not as big as some previous updates, DICE continues to refine the player experience through new quality-of-life improvements to core mechanics like player movement. Specifically, this update addresses sprint-jump excess momentum and unintended movement behavior, bringing these weird edge cases back into line. The patch notes confirmed that this patch will not affect player movement “at scale” and is intended to prevent these edge cases from occurring and potentially negatively impacting matches.

For many players, one of the bigger adjustments in this update comes with some cosmetics. Battlefield 6The Objective Ace and Winter Warning cosmetics are tweaked to what Battlefield Studios calls “better aligned with Battlefield's visual identity.” Unfortunately, no details were shared on how the cosmetics were updated, although both have received their fair share of criticism online. The Objective Ace mask has been criticized for looking ripped from an Activision mask Call of Duty: Ghosts logo, while the Winter Warning banner looked like it was created with Generative-AI due to some quirks such as the double-barreled weapon and the placement of the hands of the person holding it.

Actually, it's not the first time Battlefield 6 however, it has cosmetic issues. While EA and Battlefield Studios initially came out and dismissed the idea of cosmetics and skins that didn't fit the game, some previously released outfits left many fans feeling like they strayed too far from the grounded realistic aesthetic the game was going for. Specifically, the Wicked Grin in outfit Battlefield 6 was considered too colorful with bright blue accents and a mask with a toothy grin. It didn't take long for the outfit to disappear from the game entirely, eventually reappearing with dull colors and no smile on the neckerchief. While it was debated whether the leather had actually crossed any lines, some feared that this could be the start of a slippery slope for future clothing.

After postponing the start of season 2 for Battlefield 6The community hopes that EA and Battlefield Studios have used the extra time wisely not only to add highly requested content, but also to address the many remaining issues. Either way, with a February 17th release date, players will have to wait a little longer to see what's on the way.
