The second Arc Raiders expedition will be much easier

Expeditions are Embark's way of adding an optional progression wipe to Arc Raiders. However, raiders needed to accumulate a total of five million loot or coins to get the most out of it, forcing players to toil for five skill points in return. Since this grind-centric approach didn't sit well with the community, the developers decided to make the next quest easier.

The developers of Embark have previously noted that they are not against changing things based on player feedback. In a recent blog post, Embark revealed this registration for the next expedition will open on February 25th and officially begin on March 1st. But this time, you'll just have to rally three million coins.

“We want to get one announcement out of the way right off the bat: we've heard your feedback that the max rewards requirement is too high, and we've decided to lower the requirement to 3 million coins (600,000 per skill point),” the blog post reads. “The reward will still be 5 skill points for reaching 3 million Stash.”

But that's not all. The developers decided to balance things out a bit for those of you who missed out on the first expedition via the “Catch Up Mechanic”. If you missed any of the five skill points offered as part of the expedition rewards, you can now claim them at a discounted price.

“For this expedition, you will need to collect 300,000 stashes for each skill point missing from the first expedition. When you leave, the coins will contribute to the skill points of the second expedition before contributing to the missing skill points from the first.”

Along with the skill points, the blog also details the other rewards you'll get as part of the second expedition: some cosmetics, another cache and XP boost, repair value, and scrap loot. Fortunately, the developers also gave us plenty of time to prepare for the expedition, which further alleviated some of the issues.
