Riot Games has released a new major update for 2XKOfocusing on fixing various bugs and other issues affecting the game and deciding to leave balance adjustments for a later patch. Beginning life as Project L at Riot Games, 2XKO spent a lot of time in development, which finally ended on October 7, 2025, when the game was launched for PC players. With constant updates and improvements, the first season saw the release of new content as well as the anticipated launch of the game for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles.
While it seems that 2XKO really resonated with fans of the Runeterra universe, such as League of Legends and even Netflix Arcana series, there have been more than a few complaints from players. And that 2XKO it follows other Riot Games in that it is free to play, many game items can be a bit pricey. Fans have debated the cost of character skins and packs 2XKOwith many character cosmetics costing $20 or more depending on rarity. In fact, there's even a new Arcade Megabundle option that will offer players a total of $80. Despite these high prices, 2XKO is constantly evolving and the latest update brings some important fixes.
How to complete the 2XKO Caitlyn Champion recruitment drive
The 2XKO Caitlyn Champion Recruitment event rewards you with a new champion Caitlyn. Here's how to quickly complete the event and other ways to get it.
Riot's Julian “JulezJP” Johnson, who lived up to expectations, confirmed that this first bug fix won't be nearly as big as 2XKOa major Season 1 update that brought significant balance changes along with other fixes. In this case, the team focused on fixing critical issues, even revealing some of the “micropatch” changes the studio released between this and the last major patch. Although the update doesn't make any champion changes, Johnson hinted that some of the fixes could lead to a slight shift to the current meta game.
On that note, Riot Games highlighted 4 core gameplay related changes in this patch, they fix bugs that could damage the camera, use tag triggers to make the enemy champion invisible, and bypass the Limit Strike system with certain moves that hit the ground. Limit Strikes are ways players can choose to end their combo immediately by doing more than one wall or ground bounce or fall on a champion in a single combo. Downloading this bounty will reward the player with extra damage, a super meter, and a break meter, but there was a bug that gave 2XKO champions like Braum a little more than intended.
In addition to some general fixes, such as updating the Champion Mastery progression and other bug fixes, this update also adds a few quality-of-life improvements when playing against other players online. Specifically, players who are inactive during the character selection screen until the timer runs out will trigger the same penalty they would see if leaving the match early. The game will also remember players' previous selections for champion selection and fuses, so for those looking to get into the action as quickly as possible, they'll be able to break selection and automatically select their previous loadout.
Unfortunately, this update doesn't fix it 2XKOCurrent issues with screen tearing on console. After the game launched on consoles in January 2026, players noticed horizontal screen tearing, which seemingly affected higher refresh rate displays even more. The problem basically makes the top and bottom halves of the currently displayed image appear to be misaligned, as if one is slightly off-center, as if the screen is torn off. Fortunately, Riot Games is aware of the issues, as the specific issue was highlighted in the “Known Issues” section of the patch notes, although no timeframe for a fix was given.
