Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund believes that Speranza is currently “underutilized” as requested ARC Raiders the community for the interactive social center continues to intensify. How Embark is committed to support ARC Raiders in the next decade, the live service title is likely to undergo many changes in the coming months and years, and one big improvement that many players are eager to see is Speranza's overhaul.
ARC Raiders was undoubtedly Embark's biggest success to date. Recent data shows that the extraction shooter has sold 14 million copies to date, averaging around 6 million active players per week across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, it was not without problems. just this week ARC Raiders suffered from two serious exploits that required the development team to act quickly. The first of these two glitches saw players duplicating items such as grenades and rubber ducks, leaving the game on the verge of being unplayable for many hours. Fortunately, Embark immediately released a new hotfix that addresses the exploit, but just a few hours later, the infinite ammo bug was discovered.
Over 16,000 ARC Raiders fans agree that the game is in desperate need of 1 patch
Thousands of fans are urging Embark Studios to fix one issue with ARC Raiders ASAP, not exploits or bugs.
ARC Raiders CEO says Speranza is 'untapped'
While Embark is constantly working to release bug fixes, squash endless exploits, and implement quality of life improvements, fans are eager to see more content come to the game. One such feature that has been requested by fans for several months is the addition of a social hub in Speranza. During a new interview with IGN, Embark's CEO admitted that the game's lobby (known as Speranza) is “severely underutilized.” When asked about the PvE aspect ARC RaidersSöderlund explained how the studio looks at what aspects to “double down on”, noting how he is “personally touched by all the social elements to [ARC Raiders].”
“Personally, I think Speranza is heavily underutilized. I think that's something we probably want to improve and make it something different.”
The CEO then referred to requests for a “meeting place” in Speranza, which he thinks “could be cool.” While Söderlund did not directly confirm that a social center would be added ARC Raiders in the future it is clear that he is in favor of this idea. “It also deepens what I think is something the players maybe want more of, which is tradition ARC Raiders. So we're looking at it from multiple angles and perspectives, and then as we create content as quickly and as quickly as we can, we try to push updates and changes into the game that do more of what we believe is great about the game,” Söderlund said.
This isn't the first time Embark Studios has acknowledged demands for a social hub ARC Raiders. Earlier this year, design director Virgil Watkins sat down with PCGamesN and said the team had “100% discussed” adding such a feature to the game. The developer says it ultimately depends on time and scale, noting how it “traded other features” for a social hub while the shooter was still in development. Watkins also believes that a walkable center would still need to maintain a menu so that players can still do things quickly without having to go between merchants. The good news is that he says the team will “continue to discuss” the feature and that “there's definitely a strong appetite for it on the team as well.”
Alas, if a social center is ever added ARC Raidersit will probably take some time to be ready for use. Embark Studios is currently gearing up to release a new Shrouded Sky update later this month, which will be the second major content update to arrive within ARC RaidersRoadmap 2026. Fans can expect the free patch to add a new map condition, a new ARC threat, a new Raider Deck, an update to one of the game's existing maps, and much more. Further updates will then arrive in March and April, with the latter set to add a brand new map and a new big ARC enemy.
