Some chests appear randomly based on RNG and are excluded from this guide because their locations cannot currently be predicted.

How to craft and farm treasure chests

Players can create “World tree,” an item that can be planted on a farm to grow treasure chests on a regular basis. It requires a level three workbench to create and a plan that must be unlocked through exploration. Planting more world trees on a farm is the most reliable way to farm treasure chests Starsand Island.

How to get and use treasure maps

Treasure maps can be found in random locations, often inside other treasure chests. In order to use the map, players will need to equip it like any other tool or weapon follow the yellow arrow on the screen. An arrow will lead them to a place where they can dig up a treasure chest.

I was able to dig up two treasure chests from the same location using two maps back to back. It's not clear if this is by design or a bug, but it can save time. Just follow the arrow to the first chest and then immediately use the second map to get another chest from the same location.

How to find and use defective chests

Defective chests are a type of treasure Starsand Island which usually contain valuables such as coins. They can appear in regular treasure chests or be obtained by fishing. To open a Defective Chest, players should go to the Bag menu, tap “Options” and select “Apply”.

Defective chests can also be sold at any vendor, but this is generally not recommended. The items inside are often more valuable than the coins players would get from selling the chest.

How to complete parkour treasure puzzles

Starsand Island contains parkour puzzle minigames that can lead to hidden treasure chests. In Starsand Town, these puzzles are marked by a glowing aura over certain obstacles. Players must follow the aura, jump over obstacles without falling to reach the hidden chest.

In Moonlit Forest, hidden chests are unlocked by rescuing Gravestars. Use the pickaxe to break the Gravecrystals, glowing reddish stones, to free the trapped souls, then follow them to the location of the chest. Each treasure usually requires freeing three nearby Gravestars.

Some Gravecrystals in the Moonlit Forest also unlock new paths called Astral Paths.
