“It would be a shame if these characters only stayed in Siege this time around” Rainbow Six Siege X Directors Comment on Possible Return to Single Player
In anticipation of Rainbow Six Siege's 10th anniversary, Game Rant discusses a possible return to single-player with developers Ubisoft.
In late January, Ubisoft teased the arrival of Solid Snake Rainbow Six Siegealthough details were very scarce at the time and more information was planned to be revealed on February 15. As promised, Ubisoft has revealed Operation Silent Hunt, which kicks off on March 3rd, and features a ton Solid metal gearbox player references and content.
First off, Solid Snake from Solid metal gearbox series comes as an assault operator, again voiced by original voice actor David Hayter. Snake comes armed with his Soliton Radar MKIII gadget and On-Site Procurement ability. His gadget is a handheld device that allows Snake to see the floor plan of his immediate surroundings and the enemies on his current floor. The device also has three lights to indicate certain threats in the area, with green indicating that everything is clear, yellow highlighting the default cameras used by the enemy, while red indicating that 1 or more enemies are active in the area. Using precision mode on the device, the radar displays a location icon and cone of vision for all captured enemies, but keep in mind that it has a limited charge and cooldown timer, so use it wisely.
For this unique ability, Snake's On-Site Procurement allows him to pick up useful pouches from fallen enemies, which replenish his stock of secondary items during a match. A bit interesting is that unlike other operators, Snake is able to have up to five different secondary gadgets at once. So Snake can use his scavenging ability to stockpile items in any of his open gadget slots, allowing him to adapt to different situations.
New weapons are also on the way, including Snake's Tacit .45 caliber secondary pistol. Alternatively, Solid Snake's primary weapons could be the PMR90A2 Marksman Rifle or the F2 Assault Rifle. Even better, the F2 can now use mounts.

As expected, the event will have its own Collection series, styling Rainbow Six operators as iconic characters from the Metal Gear series such as Gray Fox and Meryl.
The Silent Hunt roadmap provides a few more details, including new Black Ice weapon skins, a 1v1 Arcade mode, as well as upgraded versions of the classic Siege maps like Coastline, Oregon and Villa. Rainbow Six SiegeThe 6v6 Dual Front mode will also be retired after Silent Hunt ends, and the Ubisoft team will also release a major Operator Balancing update.
