Diablo 2: Resurrected challenges the player to eliminate not only Diablo, but also his siblings and other Prime Evils: Mephisto and Baal. The task is challenging. Each class can beat them all, but it's clear that some classes require a lot of thought and talent to beat the game, while others are easier to succeed.
Measurement in any class Diablo 2: Resurrected always leaves room for debate. Some characters at the bottom can be top ranked against a specific boss or certain types of elite mobs. Some characters at the top may find themselves without any help with an unfortunate resistance roll. This tier list is a simple breakdown of each class and where they stand in terms of power, utility, and build potential.
Updated February 16, 2026 by Luke Simons: With the release of Reign of The Warlock, Diablo 2: Resurrected introduces a new class after 25 years. Players might think that the Warlock is a reversal of the Necromancer, but they would be sorely mistaken. The Warlock is a powerful hybrid class with access to a lot of great spells, debuffs, and probably the best late-game set to deal massive damage at the highest difficulty levels. The following guide has subsequently been altered as the balance of forces has changed considerably with the addition of this new class.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Reign Of The Warlock Beginner Tips
Discover the power of Diablo 2 Resurrected's new Warlock class with our beginner's tips. Unleash devastating magic and dominate your enemies in the Reign of the Warlock expansion.
Warlock (S+ level)
Having exceptional AoE bursts, summoning demons or chaining them to a tank for him, or replicating weapons that can crush enemies and keep endless barrages of damage in front of him: Warlock is a monster that it can remove Diablo in Hell in seconds. Although his starting set is a little lackluster and takes a while to snowball, starting at level 6 the Warlock becomes a threat and never stops until every creature and demon in Sanctuary is a pile of ash (or has a Miasma leash around his neck).
With access to a new status effect (Miasma) that unleashes clouds of persistent, damaging poison, tons of debuffs (signals), and the ability to execute low-health enemies, Warlock is a force to be reckoned with. This class passive allows her to wield a two-handed weapon with one hand and use a shield or Grimoire (its exclusive item) with the other. Sure, even the most purist veterans will find a reason to love this classand it will be the start of a long run for them.
Paladin (S-Tier)
Both knight and priest, the Paladin defends the land from the forces of evil with his military training and faith. Unfortunately, the civil war in this Paladin order forced the character to head west to seek out the Primeval Evils and defeat them once and for all. As such, Paladins arm themselves with weapons that help them defeat their enemies and auras that help them dominate in combat.
There are some great characters Diablo 2: Resurrectedbut if the community had to narrow the best down to a single consensus pick, “Hammerdin” Paladin would be the winner. It takes a while to get the hang of very specific Runewords (Grief Paladin is nearly unstoppable), but once players have what they need, Paladin is dominant on all difficulties and against every boss.
Necromancer (A-Tier)
Necromancers study the “Great Cycle of Being”. As such, these mages have slowly perfected the power that binds life and death and death back to life. Necromancers are calculated and pragmatic by training, using whatever is at their disposal to eliminate threats. As such, they use curses, curses, and even the dead as their weapons.
With a character as strong as a summoner or summoner go buildis a Necromancer class winner in every waythough it has one major flaw: it's hard to master and relies heavily on buildcraft, so it requires a lot of rare items to perform well. There are only four ways to overcome an enemy's immunity, and the Necromancer has three of those four. From start to finish, Necromancer has a nice gameplay loop, from its reliance on summoned units to its devastating Corpse Explosion.
Assassin (B-Tier)
The killers were introduced Diablo 2 in Lord of Destruction extension. Assassins come from a secret order of killing mages and operate from the shadows. They avoid using magic and instead rely on magical equipment and traps. As such, they specialize in melee combat with their techniques and special abilities.
The Trapper Assassin “Trapsin” build works incredibly well, though those looking to reach the endgame (Hell Difficulty) should try Building Mosaic/Phoenix Strike because he is currently one of the strongest in the meta. This build relies heavily on one of the newest Runewords introduced in version 2.6 of the game.
Diablo 3: Every Class, Rated
Diablo 3 gives players the option to choose one of seven playable classes. We take a look at them all and rank them from worst to absolute best!
Barbarian (B-Tier)
Warrior of Diablo takes on the form of a barbarian v Diablo 2. It serves as a game melee heavy tankBarbarians dominate physical battles. The barbarians who serve as the guardians of Mount Arreat in the game's story heed the call for help when they sense the threat of the Lord of Terror.
His scream compels him the support class you must have for co-opand its tanking abilities are second to none. One of the strongest setups for this class is the Whirlwind build, although it can be a bit short on damage at the highest difficulty levels. Leap makes the class very mobile, but away from traditional tanking Diablo 2: Resurrected unwise, the barbarian finds himself fleeing more often than engaging directly.
Druid (B-level)
Druids specialize in manipulating nature and wildlife. Despite being related to barbarians, druids have a remarkable control over nature. They can gather the power of wind and plants around them and take on the form of animals.
The druid's biggest fault is that they are “jack of all trades, master of none” kind of class. This may be true, as they are not able to summon as well as a Necromancer, deal physical damage as well as an Amazon, or do magical damage as well as a Sorceress. However, wind builds are quite strong for this class, and with a decent strategy, players can overcome most enemies and difficulty levels in D2R.
Amazon (C-Tier)
Rogue from Diablo returns as an Amazon class and serves as a ranged specialist. As nomads of tropical islands, the Amazons specialize in defending their forests and homes from invaders with mastery of weapons. Like rangers, they use bows and arrows, crossbows, spears, and even spears to perform their combat prowess.
The Amazon class finds itself in the middle of this list for good reason: versatility. There are many builds that players can try out that are easy to master, such as the spear build that has significant damage and survivability. Amazon is one of the best picks for newer players and an overall favorite among seasoned veterans.
Sorceress (C-Tier)
The Sorceress serves as a counterpart DiabloWizard class. As a member of one of Sanctuary's most powerful mage clans, the Enchantress is a master of the elements. She is able to amass power from fire, lightning and ice – helping her dominate the battlefield with ease. But there is a catch; if he is unlucky and stumbles monsters with magic resistance or immunity, is in big trouble. Combine that with her natural squishyness and players will spend more time trying to retrieve the corpse than actually playing.
But his weakness has a silver lining: Her lightning build is the fastest in the entire game on the hardest difficulty, making her a decent co-op carry or farm for alternate characters. Almost every hardcore Diablo 2: Resurrected the player has a witch to farm with.
