Nintendo Switch 2 still doesn't have access The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princessand it's something I want to see rectified immediately. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was Nintendo's response to the criticism it was aimed at The Wind Waker's cartoony, cel-shaded art style. Princess Twilight was a return to the darker art style used in games like Ocarina of Time and The Major's Maskwith an older Link as the protagonist. It received widespread critical acclaim and was even a cross-generational release, capping off the GameCube generation and serving as the launch title for the Wii.
I have a personal relationship with Princess Twilight because without it, I don't know that I'd be writing about video games today. In 2006, I went through a phase where I lost interest in video games. I was a teenager and basically interested in dating and nothing else.
Nintendo shouldn't be afraid of double dipping with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
After revealing that the GameCube version of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be coming to the Switch 2, Nintendo shouldn't be afraid to double down.
Princess Twilight belongs on Switch
I had nothing to do during the Christmas holidays that year. My girlfriend was out of town at the time and I was bored so I decided to rent on a whim The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for GameCube from Movie Gallery (RIP). I thought it would keep me entertained for a few days, but I honestly didn't expect to play it much. Instead, I became completely and utterly absorbed. I couldn't stop playing and when the credits rolled I was obsessed with playing again. I always try to play at my best Princess Twilight for the first time, and while I'll never be able to do it, I'd love to at least be able to play it on modern hardware.

Unfortunately, Zelda: Twilight Princess as of this writing it's still not on Switch 2. The game received an HD remaster for the Wii U which I actually bought at launch but never got around to playing it due to work gaming commitments. It's been years before I've gotten to the point where I could reasonably take the time to replay the older games, and I want to keep my sealed copy of the game with the Wolf Link amiibo and all. Besides, my Wii U is packed and I'd just rather play the game on Switch or Switch 2.
Nintendo can bring several routes Princess Twilight on Switch and Switch 2. One option is to port the HD remaster. In fact a Zelda: Twilight Princess An HD Switch port has been rumored for years, but still hasn't been officially announced. Another possibility is the launch of a GameCube version Princess Twilight to the Switch 2 Nintendo Classics section. after all The Wind WakerThe GameCube version is on Switch Online, so why not Princess Twilight?
Twilight Princess isn't the only Zelda unavailable on Switch 2
Thanks to Nintendo Switch Online's Nintendo Classics service and the fact that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible with the Switch 1, the vast majority of the main series Zelda games are readily available to play on Nintendo's latest home console/handheld hybrid. But apart from my beloved games are still missing Princess Twilight.
